Not counting Raya or Encanto in my ranking.

1. The Little Mermaid
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
4. Tangled
5. Frozen II
6. Sleeping Beauty
7. Aladdin
8. Cinderella
9. Frozen
10. Moana
11. The Princess and the Frog
12. Mulan
13. Pocahontas
14. Brave

It's a pretty solid lineup. The only one I don't really care for is Brave.

I know we're ranking films, not characters, but the rankings would be pretty similar. The biggest discrepancy would probably be with The Princess and the Frog. I think Tiana as a character is stronger than the film from which she originates, which is still "good" in my book, but a little looser than a movie like Tangled.

I have made variations of this list many times on this board over the years. Here is how Iโ€™m feeling today:

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs *****
2. Beauty and the Beast *****
3. Sleeping Beauty **** 1/2
4. The Little Mermaid ****
5. Aladdin ****
6. Mulan ****
7. Moana *** 1/2
8. Frozen ***
9. Encanto ***
10. Tangled ***
11. Cinderella ***
12. Princess and the Frog ** 1/2
13. Pocahontas ** 1/2
14. Brave **
15. Raya and the Last Dragon *
16. Wish *
17. Frozen II *

I was attempting to be as objective as possible. Especially in terms of the top 4, The Little Mermaid is still my favorite animated Disney film, but objectively I donโ€™t think itโ€™s really a better film than the films preceding it on my list. I may have a deep connection to the songs and the story of TLM, but it doesnโ€™t stop me from thinking Snow White and Beauty and the Beast are masterpieces of the art form. Or Pocahontas, which is very flawed so I ranked it fairly low, but it is one of my personal favorites, as well.

I'm surprised to see Cinderella so low on your list.
I actually was considering putting Snow White above The Little Mermaid, but I just couldn't. The Little Mermaid was my favorite film when I was a kid and it still holds a special place in my heart.

Great rankings, everyone :)

I agree, UmbrellaFish :D that's why it's the last one in my fab 5 list, but I still think it's a great movie.

The ranking I made is from both an objective standpoint and a biased standpoint. Sorry not sorry, hehe :)

Also, I do think that the ones that are in the bottom of my list are not downright terrible, it's just that some of them have questionable executions in what they wanted in their stories.

Of course it's going to be from highest to lowest, however, the first 5 can be in any order. :D 1 to 12 are considered the highest while 13 to 17 are the ones that are considered the lowest.

1. Encanto
2. Mulan
3. Beauty and the Beast
4. Moana
5. The Little Mermaid
6. Tangled
7. The Princess and the Frog
8. Aladdin
9. Cinderella
10. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
11. Pocahontas
12. Sleeping Beauty
13. Raya and the Last Dragon
14. Frozen 2
15. Brave
16. Frozen
17. Wish
Favorite Things Right Now:
1. Kpop Demon Hunters (Movie)
2. Superman (Movie)
3. Devil In Disguise by Marino (Song)
4. The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Movie)
5. Monster Hunter Rise (Video Game)

After a while of thinking about it, I realize the mice are very important to the movie. The breakfast scene is too much, but it leads to the introduction of Cinderella's life as well as the set up for both the important destruction of Cinderella's dress/hope scene and the climactic, suspenseful climax. Just chop off a lot of the breakfast stuff and insert more of the Prince and Cinderella and viola! A less-flawed masterpiece!

I am SHOCKED to find Moana or Encanto above Cinderella! Or Tangled or Frozen above Cinderella! I mean, really, where was the big emotional sadness? Waaah my grandma expects a lot of me! Waaahh! Whatever! Here I go, I promise I am being as objective as I could be:

1. Beauty and the Beast
2. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
3. The Little Mermaid
4. Aladdin
5. Cinderella
6. Sleeping Beauty
7. Tangled
8. Frozen
9. Mulan
10. Brave
11. Pocahontas
12. The Princess and the Frog
13. Frozen II
14. Moana
15. Wish
16. Encanto
17. Raya and the Last Dragon

By Disney Princess are you referring to the characters in the franchise line-up or the characters who are royalty in their respective films? Because if it's the former, Frozen/Frozen II, Encanto, and Wish should not be included and if it's the latter more films such as Atlantis: The Lost Empire and The Black Cauldron should. In any case, I decided to go by the former. The titles I ranked after Moana are pretty much a tie for last. Even though I like individual elements in them such as the music or characters, they have such fundamental structural and storytelling issues I can't possibly rank them any higher.

01. The Little Mermaid
02. Aladdin
03. Beauty and the Beast
04. Mulan
05. Pocahontas
06. Sleeping Beauty
07. Cinderella
08. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
09. The Princess and the Frog
10. Tangled
11. Frozen*
12. Moana
13. Raya and the Last Dragon
14. Frozen II*
15. Brave
16. Encanto**
17. Wish**

*not in the official line-up
**currently not in the official line-up, but may be added in the future

Sorry to be late to the party. Fun idea, Fareb!

So I can't really rank them, cause there would be too many ties. So I will take the idea from some of you before me, and rank them in groups:

Group1: re-watchable Masterpieces:
(in no particular order)
Beauty and the Beast. Aladdin. The Little mermaid. Sleeping Beauty.

Group 2: re-watchable AWESOME movies (though they all have some pacing or story issue)
Pocahontas. Cinderella. Tangled. Snow White (I understand it's importance, and it is visually gorgeous... but the film drags at times).

Group 3: Still very good movies!

Mulan (very subjective: I don't like war films... and that damn Mushu is so out of place! But very good film!). Princess and the Frog (story issues, mediocre music)

Group 4: Movies I like ok, and probably should re-watch.
Frozen. Encanto. Brave (not Disney!). Moana.

Group 5: crap I would rather forget.
Frozen 2. Wish. Raya.

Some of these is tainted by personal feeling, but some of them are objectively better than others. But I won't write THAT long essay!

1. The Little Mermaid: My all-time favorite movie, animated or not! This movie will always have the biggest place in my heart. I grew up with it and it was the first Disney movie I ever saw and it just stuck with me. I adore the animation, the characters, the songs and the story. Pure Disney Magic.

2. Aladdin: Another huge childhood favorite of mine. Again, the animation is just wonderful in this movie and the characters are great!

3. Cinderella: Growing up, this wasn't a movie I was so much aware of, but when the Platinum Edition DVD came out, I got it, saw it and just fell in love with it! It's a very simple story and Jaq & Gus vs. Lucifer takes on too much screentime. But I still love this movie!

4. Pocahontas: Another childhood favorite of mine. The songs are some of the best from Disney. The animation is great, the backgrounds are gorgeous. The sidekicks (Meeko, Flit & Percy) ruins the almost perfect story.

5. Sleeping Beauty: My little sister loved this movie when we grew up. I liked it, but it was never a favorite of mine. But over time, I have grown to love it! The animation is some of Disney's greatest. I love the 3 faries and the humor each of them have.

6. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Whenever I put this movie on Disney+, it always makes me smile. I love the humor of the dwarfs. They are SO funny.

7. Mulan: Great animation and great songs!

8. Moana: The first CGI animated classic that I loved! The story is great and Moana herself is a great character! It has some great songs with "I Am Moana" being the standout for me!

9. The Princess and the Frog: Great characters, but I do feel the story is missing some details here and there. Charlotte is a favorite character of mine, it's funny 'cos the first time I saw it, I hated her. The overhyped character that couldn't sit still for 1 minute. But I have grown to love her.

10. Brave: I saw this in the cimena with my friends and was surprised how much I liked this movie. I think the characters are great and I loved the character of Maudie, she was so funny!

11. Beauty and the Beast: I like this movie, but I do think it's a bit overhyped. It has some great songs and the animation is nice sometimes. But it's not one of my favorites.

12. Raya and the Last Dragon: Sisu is my favorite character. I loved Benji and Raya as well. One character that absolutely ruined this movie for me, was that little baby con artist Little Noi. What a horrible character. Her and Maximus from Tangled are some of the worst Disney characters for me. I can't stand them. Otherwise a nice movie.

13. Frozen: I was rather excited to see this movie when it came out. I liked it okay. The songs are nice and the animation is great. Although the story was a bit messy. And the character of Anna was all hype-hype-hyper. I never like those characters. Olaf was cute I think.

14. Encanto: Meh for me, it has some great songs but the story and the characters, I hated. Mirabelle was the hyper, awkward, silly character. I do love her song though, the one where she ain't a part of the family picture. Another character I really don't like is Pepa. With her anger issues and cloud with rain and thunder. It never clicked with me.

15. Tangled: It has beautiful animation, for sure... But the "humor" in the movie ruined it for me big time! The only time I laughed was when Rapunzel hit herself with the pan. But I found the film's humor to be corny and like that of "Shrek." Calling the tavern "The Snuggly Duckling?" What kind of name is that?! Maximus looked like a mash between the horse from "The Road to El Dorado," Samson ("Sleeping Beauty"), and Achilles ("The Hunchback of Notre Dame"). He also acted like Scooby Doo with his sniffing along the ground like a dog. The idea of a "cop horse" was also not funny. That is the worst part about this movie that really gets on my nerves! A horse acting like a dog..?! For real, Disney? :o It was so awful! It was the same with Sven in Frozen, but toned down, thank god! I found Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to be a lot more fun than this movie. (Dopey throwing the jewels into the closet and flying with the bag getting thrown into the closet himself, making the classic Disney Wistle Sound) Even Mr. Smee getting drunk in Peter Pan and making hiccups are more fun than this movie. I saw Tangled at the cinema when it came out with some friends and one of them was laughing hysterically whenever Maximus was on screen. But it just goes to show you, that people have different kind of humor and that is great. But I just don't like the humor in this movie. I think Disney took it too far with this one...

I like reading everyone's responses! Even the ones that put Tangled, Moana, or Encanto above Cinderella for some odd reason lol. I really liked that VanessaFan wrote little paragraphs on how he felt, I should have done that!

That would be me huhuhu ๐Ÿ˜ญ I guess I put them there because I grew up loving Tangled and Moana and Encanto is up there because it was the last Disney animated film I genuinely loved, mostly because I felt it harkened back to how the Renaissance movies were (set in the same place, no big road trip adventure, no main character with buddy, great themes and such).

And don't worry Disney Duster, I actually do like Cinderella, I'm one of those people who'll defend Cinderella the character to the end. ๐Ÿ˜† I put it and the other Walt-era Disney Princess movies at the bottom because I didn't grew up watching them, only a few snippets here and there with some occasional full length watching when it played on Disney Channel when it still existed here in Southeast Asia. rip

On the topic of Cinderella, one of my earliest memories of that movie was when I saw the stepsisters ripping of her dress made by Cinderella's mice. I got so emotional, I think I was like 5 at that time and I cried and bawled my eyes out when I saw that. So much so I had a tantrum and my dad was like "it's just a movie" in such a monotone way. Dad, they're literally destroying her dress! I have the right to be mad at them ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’€

Anyways, I did say that the list I made was from a critical and biased view so take that as you will Disney Duster. hehe

Ranking Disney princess movies can depend on the individual and personal preferences. Below are my rankings

- Frozen (2013): With a unique story and the famous song "Let It Go", Frozen has conquered the hearts of audiences around the world.

- The Lion King (1994): One of Disney's classics, The Lion King, has a strong plot and lively music.

- Beauty and the Beast (1991): A romantic fairy tale with beautiful images and memorable melodies.

- Cinderella (1950): Classic film with a fairy tale about a girl who was mistreated but eventually found happiness.

- Moana (2016): With a unique Polynesian culture and great music, Moana is one of the new favorite movies.

- The Little Mermaid (1989): Ariel and the Undersea World brings a magical story with unique music.

- Mulan (1998): A story of strength and courage, Mulan has attracted many fans.

- Tangled (2010): A modern version of the "Rapunzel" story, Tangled brings humor and adventure.

Just curious why you include The Lion King?
Is Nala considered a Disney Princess?
