Which song writers would like to have for the next Disney Musical?

Assuming that a Disney Musical is releasing next year, what song writers would you like to write the songs? It could be any song writers including ones who haven't worked on a Disney film.

Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman of Hairspray, Some Like it Hot and Disney's own Mary Poppins Returns would be a neat choice for songwriters for a new WDAS film. Actually, my top choice would be Anias Mitchell who wrote the musical hit Hadestown, that would be amazing if she wrote songs for Disney.

I assume who mean someone who hasn't worked on a WDAS musical before, right? In that case, my pick would be Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, known for Anastasia, Once On This Island, and Ragtime among others.

I was about to write Adam Schlesinger but I just learned he sadly passed away a few years ago. His work on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend alone is a proof of how versatile his style was, including songs who were obvious Disney homages/parodies.

If we're taking a popular artist route, I wouldn't mind a Taylor Swift-written musical, but TS of "Folklore" and "Evermore" where storytelling was the focus.

I'm going to second Anias Mitchell.

I also wouldn't mind if Pasek and Paul got to write for an animated musical one of these days. I'd be curious to see their work paired with an original Disney story.

And of course, I'm always praying for the return of Menken.

Cliche answer, but I'd also go with Taylor Swift as well.

Definitely Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman. I also think David Foster could collaborate with whoever he's working on "Boop!" with - the songs from that are promising.
