Has that actually been confirmed though? Because there’s no evidence of it in any of the books in those read-along videos.

Re: Wish
Gotta say this is the most hyped up I've been for a Disney Animation release in my adulthood. The Star character is gonna be a big merchandise mover. I have reservations about the goat but I'm optimistic the final product will deliver. I appreciate that they are actually advertising their songs in their trailer, which has been a problem I've had with modern Disney marketing.

No, you're right, it's just speculation at this point.ElMaximo13 wrote: Has that actually been confirmed though? Because there’s no evidence of it in any of the books in those read-along videos.

Re: Wish
I'm so excited for this movie! I love every thing stars related so I was hooked from the concept! Also, I'm sure this will be the closest I'll ever have to having a Disney movie set in my country, so instant bias there. I personally think the art style looks beautiful, even if there's clear room for further polish and experimentation on Disney's part. I'm also so grateful that we finally have a full blown non-twist villain again AND a villain song! At last!
Re: Wish
What's your guys box office prediction for this movie? This movie will definitely make 500 m+ cause if a movie like Elemental with bad marketing and the lowest opening weekend can make that much than so can Wish that has more hype than Elemental.

Re: Wish
Anywhere from $500-$600M WW is where I see Wish at globally.
Also, that other song "Knowing What I Know Now" kinda has a beat similar to "Strangers Like Me." You know, when the beat goes "ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba, bum" in a fast=paced way.
Also, I wonder if the animation of Star interacting with Tinker Bell is something we see in the end credits.

Re: Wish
It has been revealed what song will be released each week. The people here who shared their guesses got it right. It says Tuesdays instead of Wednesdays because they premiere a day early on SiriusXM's Disney Hits channel.
Asha and Magnifico's duet "At All Costs" and Julia Michaels' end credits song "A Wish Worth Making" are the only ones that are not part of this, but we'll get to hear them just two days after the last of these songs is released since that's when the soundtrack comes out.

Oh, I didn't remember you already mentioned you had checked Atom Tickets. I don't tend to buy tickets in advance since where I live there aren't premium screens and regular tickets are never sold out or anything, so I don't know why there aren't more showings yet. Plus, it might be different here than in the US. Maybe it's too early, like you said.blackcauldron85 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 3:03 am Thanks, D82!! I should have clarified; I mentioned it I think up top somewhere...only a couple theaters a few towns away are showing as having tickets...I haven't been to Fandango to check but I didn't know if there was like a special partnership or something with Disney. Maybe it's too early & I just need to be patient.
Oh, good point. That must be the real reason why they're doing this. It explains why it's so unprecedented. Well, I think it's actually not a bad idea.
It's true it resembles Cinderella's Fairy Godmother's cape. Maybe it is a nod to it.The Disneynerd wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 6:09 am Do you guys also think Ashas Cape shes wearing in the Song snippet is a nod to the Cape of Cindrrellas Fairy Godmother? The blue along with the pinkish bow gives me the impression![]()
I think I started that rumor because I said the back cover of this book gave me that impression, but if there's nothing about it in the books, probably I was wrong.ElMaximo13 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 7:16 am Has that actually been confirmed though? It's interesting how they're using footage of Ariana DeBose from the recording sessions since they can't film new stuff with her.
That looks more like one of those animated bumpers to me. Plus, Tinker Bell is in 2D there and I doubt they'll have any actual traditional animation in the film itself, but who knows.D23ExpoVisitor25 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 6:35 pm Also, I wonder if the animation of Star interacting with Tinker Bell is something we see in the end credits.
Here are some other sweepstakes I've seen (the last one is for the UK):D23ExpoVisitor25 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 6:51 pm Disney's Wish is teaming up with Dancing with the Stars to give 4 people the chance to go see the season finale live in December: https://wishthemovie.com/dwts.

Re: Wish
Popular fascist bigot youtuber Lauren Chen said in her video something interesting (that is not happening because we have the spoiler books) that the movie could be about Asha learning that Magnifico is not evil and she's just immature for thinking that every people wish should be granted

Whenever I listen to the part that goes "To have something more for us than this", I am instantly reminded of this line from Love Actually by the great Bill Nighy:
And particularly enjoy the incredible crassness of the moment when we try to squeeze an extra syllable into the fourth line.

Re: Wish
I still think this song is absolutely lovely and the orchestrations are really good for this type of song. I love that Ariana DeBose marks the first time since the casting of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel in Frozen, that a Broadway performing actor sings an "I Want" song in a WDAS movie. It's been a while since that happened.Farerb wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 6:07 am The official song with lyrics:

Former member, new username here - I haven't been able to access my old account so have been mostly lurking for years.
I flipped through the Big Golden Book at Barnes and Noble yesterday, which seems to cover even less story than the Little Golden Book, and feel pretty... confused?
I really like the animation style, what we've heard of the songs, and I'm generally excited for the movie, but the plot seems especially thin. I looked for the Junior Novelization to get more detail, but my store wasn't selling it yet.
I should probably approach Wish the same way I approached Encanto - I listened to the soundtrack beforehand but didn't know anything about the story, and even though some of the "rules of the world" contradicted themselves I walked away mostly satisfied. I guess Wish appeals to me more since it seems to have that classic fairytale hook, I'm just worried it isn't going to make a lot of sense lol.

Re: Wish
New trailer from Latin America. It features a lot of new footage and a new snippet of "Knowing What I Know Now."
The soundtrack tracklist has also been revealed. Apart from the songs we already knew, there'll be a reprise of "This Wish" by Ariana DeBose and "Wish cast" and four instrumental versions of songs. Apparently, no score tracks will be included.
And speaking of the score, here's an interview with the film's score composer, Dave Metzger.

Re: Wish
I wonder if the "This Wish" (reprise) is the one where during the climax, Asha is weakened by King Magnifico's dark magic and starts singing this song again, remembering that there is stardust in everyone. It's when her family, friends and all of the people of Rosas join in and where Star is strengthened by this and starts to repel King Magnifico's power to the point where his staff dissolves him inside the staff itself. Or it could be at the end of the movie where it leads to a classic sounding Disney choir. Personally, either one of them could be awesome if that was the case.

Re: Wish
Well, to give my thoughts about the new material released: I love the new posters and the standees of Magnifico. And frankly, the new featurettes and trailers were far superior to the domestic one. And the final version of This Wish is good, despite how it`s not particularly different from the version Ariana sang last year at Disney D23 Expo. But what`s remarkable is how despite it`s mandatory bi-racial setting, the song certainly does have a Spanish influence to it.
That was a remarkable short list. Most of the soundtracks to the Revival films have been long, so it`s awfully remarkable how short it is.D82 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:32 pm The soundtrack tracklist has also been revealed.
