I haven't watched it yet myself, but a few people on the Home Theater Forum confirmed that the blu-ray does indeed have the new transfer.

Hey, Mooky. Can you post a link to that forum? I can't seem to find it.

If anyone here got their copy, please let us know if the blu ray is the new restoration!!!

And wasn't the new restoration supposed to be on Disney+ today (Oct16th)??? Looks the same to me... I don't think it's the new one.

I agree, Marce. I just checked it on Disney+, and it's still the old one.

PMF on the forum mentioned 7 remaining titles. Which ones do they mean? :?

They corrected themselves later and said they meant 11 remaining titles instead of 7. So, the rest of the Walt-era classics: four from the ‘40s, four from the ‘50s, and three from the ‘60s.

So basically, every other animated non-package film from those decades? Good gravy, imagine how Sleeping Beauty would look if they restored it from an original negative (as much as I love the restoration we’ve had as of 2008).

I watched some scenes from the new restoration on Disney+, and it looks beautiful. I'm gonna wait for my copy to arrive, and I'll watch the whole thing, but I'm super excited.

Meanwhile, Sleeping Beauty might come next year, for its anniversary. That would be a sight to behold. The current Blu-ray restoration is stunning, but I'm sure the 4K one would be even better.

I’m genuinely debating whether or not to buy Snow White and Cinderella (along with- maybe The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King) on physical 4K. Should I go for it?

If it means anything, I don’t own a 4K player yet but I’ve been sort of future-proofing my collection by getting all of the hand-drawn Disney films currently available on 4K. I kind of sworn off getting into another format after the whole DVD vs BD thing, but I couldn’t pass up after I saw how great BatB looks on 4K.

DisneyJedi.... I don't know about SW, but you should DEFINITELY get the Cinderella one. I feel it's like the first time we get to watch that movie in detail.

As for SW... really? Anyone here who has the set... please confirm the blu ray has the new transfer please?

How DOES BatB look on 4K?

By the way, I have a PS5 so I guess I can watch 4K Blu-rays.

DisneyJedi, you NEED Cinderella's 4K, even if just to have the new transfer on Blu-ray. It is the only way to watch Cinderella! All the others (besides the Laserdisc) just are wrong, too bright, and are missing detail!

Then, I'd get your most favorite films on 4K as well.

Colors closest to the original theatrical release without red and yellow undertones of previous editions.

The colors are more natural and less saturated as well. Much closer to how I remember the film.

Cinderella's new restoration is gorgeous. Definitely worth a buy. Same with Beauty and the Beast. The Little Mermaid and The Lion King look great, but I did not notice big differences between the 4K and the HD versions. I just ordered Snow White, and I'll comment on the restoration after having watched the entire thing. But from what I saw on Disney+, it's beautiful, and definitely much better than the Diamond and Signature Blu-rays.

If Snow White is even better than before, I guess I have to pick her up, too!
