Oh no...but seriously, bots acting like real people talking in this forum is such a scary thing and I also do wonder how you, Sotiris, know which of us are bots and which are not.

The entire post is written like it was copied from ChatGPT and there's a suspicious link in the signature.

As a moderator, the forum software helps me detect bots, but here are some things everyone can look out for: 1) new user who is not listed in this post of verified real members. 2) they have link spam in their posts or signature 3) if they're quoting someone else's post and that quoted post includes a hyperlink 3) if one of their first posts is in an old topic 4) if the tone of the post reads neutral or academic 5) if they don't directly engage with what you say, but instead reply with something generic or vague 6) if they have a suspicious username with words such as solution, design, seller, log, web, digital, custom etc.

I just learned something, and if it's true, it's kinda silly and funny, but also very sad. Apparently, director Mark Webb wanted Rachel Zegler to play Snow White, because he saw a behind the scenes picture of her from the Shazam sequel, where she holds an apple with a goofy smile. He thought she looked very good, and decided to cast her because of that. Is that the most ridiculous piece of c**p you've ever heard or what?

I thought she got cast for Snow White before she was in the Shazam sequel. I thought it was because of her work, especially singing, on West Side Story.

From that YouTube channel, Mike Zeroh. That's why I'm not 100% sure if it's true or not. But he was right about many things, especially about The Little Mermaid back when it was still in production.

What I hate about this is that some Disney fans and some websites like thedisinsider (they even remove the possibility of comment on the post) are trying to wash her and say that she didn't said anything bad about the character or the original movie. They are trying to make fans guilty of taking everything out of context.
We are not taking anything out of context. We know what she has been saying and she was pretty clear about it.

There has been a lot of ugliness mixed in with the valid criticism of Zegler's comments. We've had a lot of trolls and racists--people who don't actually care about the animated film--using this opening to dogpile on her. I haven't read that piece, so I don't know what the exact intent behind said article is, but I don't think corrective action would necessarily be a bad thing.

People were talking about her behaviour and about what she said not about her skin color. This movie is going to have the same problem than TLM. If you say anything bad about it then your are going to be called racist by the toxic Disney's fans.

No one has said anything remotely racist about her! People have just pointed out how stupid and entitled her comments were! I do feel sorry for her, because she is somewhat talented and has a lot of potential, but she brought this on herself!

And nobody is taking anything out of contest. She said what she said and she was pretty clear about it. She talked bad about the animated classic and about the main character in interviews that are uploaded without being edited. She also has been rude on Twitter with people. She is talented but she needs to know about being polite

Maybe not on this forum, but people have DEFINITELY attacked her on the basis of her skin color on things like YouTube and Facebook, and this specific outrage has only been given wider reach with the backlash against her disdain for princesses. I could take screenshots, but I don't want to give them extra airtime.

People are saying that we are taking out of contest what she said about the original film and this is not true.
Did people use that to insult her? Yes. They did it with Halle too but the difference between Halle and this lady is that Halleโ€˜a behaviour was amazing and she treated the original classic with respect. Rachel is acting like a crazy teenager and with this behaviour the only thing that sheโ€˜s doing is harming the movie

Oh, I definitely agree that outside voices are looking at the reactions from within the Disney fandom and misconstruing why most Disney fans are actually upset with her, and that's annoying. But I also don't feel like it's really fair for the Disney fandom to use her as a punching bag this way.

This remake was certainly pitched as a "girl boss" Snow White who don't need no man way before Zegler was involved. The creative team was responding to what they thought the internet wanted based on years of bad-faith reactions to the movie. But Zegler alone is the one being held accountable for this trainwreck--not the authors of those lazy princess memes, not Marc Webb, not Bobs Iger or Chapek.

I also don't think it helps that literally every remake has leaned into this brand of princess criticism (some more than others) and from a certain perspective they have been very successful for it. This has been the first remake where the "girl boss-ifying" of the lead princess has been so widely derided. I think Zegler was confident that she could recite the same schtick without people making personal attacks about her as a person.

She's clearly uneducated in the nuances of Disney culture, which makes it seem really weird that she'd sign her name to this film in the first place, but she shouldn't have to answer, at least not exclusively, for nonsense that far predates her.

She's being "attacked" because of how she formulates her thoughts. I know she did not start this, but whenever she opens her mouth about the movie, it's a disaster. She's being disrespectful, super hypocritical and very, very entitled. She needs to be held accountable for what she said so far.
