I'm happy it has success, I wonder if it will be even better once it's released on Blu-ray.

I read that Halle Bailey is going solo musically (perhaps only temporary?) with her first single out this Friday. Personally, I'm glad. I don't dislike her sister, they had some pretty nice harmonies together, but I think Halle has the better voice. I would buy a solo album, whereas as a duo, I wasn't that interested.

As a singer, Halle Bailey is amazing. I was very impressed with her rendition of POYW. I also loved the reprise, especially the climax, when she held that high note. Even though I prefer the way the original was performed.

I think they should've picked someone with a more theatrical voice for the role, but her version was as good as a Disneymania cover anyway. The raised key in the reprise isn't on her anyway, and I don't think it flattered her voice either (the original song they gave wasn't attuned to her strengths either, which was more surprising). I think she's better at radio-driven music though, which is why I'm interested in the single. I remember posting back when about how I would've liked a TLK: The Gift-esque album from her with this film. Oh, well, but at least she's putting out something solo.

Now that Barbie and Oppenhaimer have been released we can say that this movie is not a hit. It made good numbers? Well, we could discuss that but to be honest this movie should have made the same ammount of money that Barbie did or at least the same numbers that GOTG3 did. It is a moderate success but I'm sure that Disney is not really Happy about the ammount of money earned with this movie.
I think that they wanted a success so powerfull like Barbie's one. They released tok of merchandise like they never did before, they gave toys with the Happy meal and they even brang Halle's Ariel to the park. They wanted this version to be so popular as possible and I'm affraid that they couldn't do It.

I don’t know if this will really happen, but I don’t think it’s a bad idea. I noticed the people next to me quietly singing along during my showing.

I don't think it's a bad idea either. But I can imagine a packed theater singing along with Halle Bailey to the second POYW reprise.

Trying to imagine a full theater trying to sing along to "For the First Time" or "Scuttlebutt"...

I don't think it's a "bad" idea necessarily, I just don't think it'll bring in much the way the Aladdin 2019 sing-a-long release did.

It's a movie that hardly reached 600 millones. Right now in theaters you can watch Barbie that is a massive hit, Oppenheimmer, Elemental, Indiana Jones and Ninja Turtles. If you want to go to the cinema you are not going to watch a movie released 3 months ago when you can watch so many new movies. Also the movie is available in digital and in one month It Will be available in physical too. Why would you spend money to watch the same movie with subtitles in a song? I could understand the release of an extended cut but this is a desperate way to recover money.

There was a user on Instagram who said he saw the movie in theaters 15 times, and he definitely wants to see the sing along version as well.

But theaters don't earn money with one ticket per day. They need to sell as much tickets as they can. If the movie doesn't sell tickets the theaters is going to remove It and they Will replacr It with another movie. Re release this movie again means more publicity. They are going to spend money again in a movie that didn't get good results a few months ago. It's not a good decission. In my opinion is a desperately way to try to make the movie popular again and to be honest they can not sell It as a new chance to watch the "fenom" again on theaters.

That's why they are releasing a sing-along version. They're hoping this way the film will finally be able to cross the $600 million mark. While it doesn't make that much of a difference for Disney monetarily-speaking, it will generate good headlines and help the film look more successful. By the way, as of right now, the sing-along version is only getting released in the Philippines where the movie was a surprise hit. It's not known yet if it'll be released in the rest of the world.

I mean, I guess that is technically longer than the usual three month window.
