Walt Disney Treasures - Region 2 ~ UK

Post by Amanda »

Does anyone know when the next Disney Treasures will be released in the UK. Chronological Donald was set for release on 13 September, but has not materialised yet. Also, what other Disney Treasures titles are going to be released for the UK - I'm hoping Mickey in Living Colour 2, Mickey Mouse in Black and White Volumes 1 and 2, and The Complete Pluto!

Dude, get the region 1 versions. No waiting, they're limited editions and the tins look a hell of a lot nicer than the manky R2 ones.

They have most of them there, and they're pretty cheap too. With the odd exception with the 1st wave Treasures.

I think at the minute there are plans for Mickey Mouse in Living Colour Volume 2 and Donald Duck volume1 and that's it. we'll probably have to wait if there is going to be any more.

For me the "waiting" is definitely over ...
I (finally) turned over to the R1-side . I am tired the way Buena Vista Europe is treating his Disney fans . Reducing 2disc to 1disc version (Brother Bear); wrong aspect ratio's (Brother Bear); announced... and then suddenly disappearing titles (Alice in Wonderland, Pocahontas, Chronoligical Donald); Booklets that have mainly a commercial purpose rather than an informative; etc ... :( :x

Switching to R1? Turning over to R1? The first dvd I bought was the limited issue Lady and the Tramp back in 1999! I started buying R1's purely because they were released MONTHS before the R2 versions. I got Inspector Gadget the same year as Lady and we had that before it was even released in cinema's here. I've always felt that R1 audiences have a tendency to receive better releases than a lot of other places. Look at the covers Disney has chosen to slap onto films like Darby, original Freaky Friday and Greyfriars Bobby to name a few!! At least R1 got decent covers!! I remember those old covers being on the old laserdisc editions! Regarding the Treasures sets, I heard a rumour that Disneyland USA isn't being released in the UK because apparently its not really relevant. Obviously there are no Disney fans in this country!!! Someone at Disney really needs to wake up and smell the coffee if this rumour is to be believed! I have all the Treasures sets (R1) except for Silly Symphonies which I am trying to track down as it appears to have got lost in the post!! It HAS to turn up! I will not buy the R2 version!
