I'm not surprised by this announcement since the sequel did really well on Disney+. I don't expect it to be very good, though. I wonder if they'll hire the same team from the second film. Perhaps, they'll bring back the kids from the original this time.

That was to be expected given the success of the sequel. This is bad news for me as I didn't like it, but I wasn't looking forward to a third film after it anyway.

I thought Hocus Pocus 2 was a good time but I did not expect a third one regardless of how successful the sequel was. But yes, I would be down for a chance to revisit the original good guy trio from the first film. I was really shocked that they resisted the temptation to bring back Binx in the last movie!

I guess I'd only really be excited for this if they brought Ortega back. 2 just was.... well, it was okay. Not terrible, worth owning (if they ever put it on Blu-ray*), but it was a letdown in a lot of ways. Quite in contrast to Devil Wears Prada 2 which was so so good, I was pretty surprised it ended up that good. I think Meryl Streep might deserve the credit, they said she rejected scripts for 2 multiple times. Hopefully Practical Magic 2 ends up more like that than HP2. Just amazed they brought whoever was behind 2 back for this one. Mess.

* I expect, since 3 will be theatrically released, that they will eventually release the trilogy in one package on 4K.
