Newbie here too
I've been a member for a little while now, though I don't post that often. I do read the forum every day though.
I'm 28 and have been a Disney fan ever since my dad took me to see Fox and the Hound when I was real little (4 or five maybe). It was my first movie to see in a theatre. Anyway, my wife and I have a little girl who is almost 2 and I decided I wanted her to share in my joy of Disney and started buying as much as I could afford on DVD.
I have obtained quite a few DVD's so far and yesterday hit the jackpot at a little flea market near by: found most of the Limited Edition DVD's for sale at $15 a piece, so I picked up Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp, Jungle Book, 101 Dalmations, and Pinocchio, and Peter Pan. that was all of the Limited except for Mulan but it is coming out next month I didn't get it. I also found some videos from the '80s and may go back to get a few more of those tomorrow.
So anyway, I have apretty decent collection now and love watching these videos with my daughter and my wife. I picked up Bambi on vhs too and watched it for the first time ever, can't believe I never watched it before!
I have learned so much form reading on these boards, you all are so well informed and definitely opionionated and I like that. I look forward to trying to get to know some of you better. God Bless.

Well I've just spent the past hour or so ready all these introductions instead of working, but I'd say it was a much better use of my time
Hi, my name is Mel and I'm another inhabitant of the wonderful city of Sydney. I'm 27, will be married in a month and so far have no children, unless you count the fiance
The first Disney movie I can remember seeing was the Black Hole. Have no idea how old I was, but I remember seeing bits of it, and I'm pretty sure I had a nap in there too
My folks were good enough to buy quite a few Disney videos when I was a kid, so I grew up watching Cinderella, Bambi, Sleeping Beauty etc. It wasn't until Aladdin though (yep another who thanks Aladdin for the full-on obsession) that I became totally enthralled with Disney. I saw it 3 times at the movies, twice by myself, which is pretty brave when you're a teenager and it's 'uncool' to a) go to an animated movie and; b) go to the movies by yourself. Guess I was taken - hook, line and sinker.
It got worse however, my first trip to Disneyland was with a school group in 1994 and I was completely gone. I was only 16 at the time, so had to wait a few years until I had my own money to go back. Meanwhile I started collecting the movies on video and watching them at the theatre.
In 1997 I was finally able to go back to the US and visited WDW. I was totally blown away and my obsession only got worse. At present, I've been to WDW 3 times and DL 4 times as well as Disneyland Paris once
Unfortunately this means I'm extremely poor
It was during my trip to Europe however that I met my wonderful fiance. Thankfully, he's a fan of Disney too - enough so that he will watch all the movies with me and even keeps an eye out in the DVD section for anything we don't have
He understands my obsession so much that he actually proposed to me in Disneyland last July
and when we bought a house earlier this year (if you can believe we broke into the ridiculous Sydney property market), we managed to buy a house with a home theatre room, complete with projector and 3m wide screen - perfect for watching those Disney DVDs on!
Currently we have around 70 Disney DVDs and we're constantly adding to it ~ our nieces and nephews love us for it, as do their parents who send their kids to us when they need a few hours peace
I'm not much into the technical aspects of the movies, I'm more about just enjoying the magic and the history of the amazing man that is Walt. Hopefully you'll see me around here a fair bit, and I'll help be a part of the Aussie invasion that Loomis has mentioned

I must say that I love most of the Disney animated movies.
Right now I have in my collection: 20 Disney movies.
My favorite so far are the ones from the 90's. The only one that I really miss is THE LITTLE MERMAID (already got BatB, TLK and soon ALADDIN!!!!)
Oh yeah, and one more thing I love Jafar so much that I already have a sticker of him in the back window of my car, a small plush toy and a t- shirt.
From the movie itself I have the soundtrack (with the original Arabian Nights lyrics); had the HUGE movie size poster puzzle but lost it . But got a poster eventually.
I also have the poster from Lilo and Sticth (besides because I like the movie and all other Disney characters) mainly because of the Aladdin's cast.
Oh yeah!, I also have a poster with the Disney villains from ebay; love it because it has even the new ones like Yzma and to vary it has The Horned King and even Frollo that are most of the time forgotten.
OOOkkk, I guess that completes my Disney background
PS
I also have a Disney cast puzzle called The Wonderful World of Disney (that I bought in Spain) but altough it has Lilo and Stitch (wich surprised me) it misses Hercules, Quasimodo, Cuzco (and given the fact that Lilo and Stitch where shown they could have added him) and instead of Aladdin they put Jasmine!!! . I mean, she's hot but hey the movie is called ALADDIN for one reason.
PD
The first Disney movie I saw was Dumbo.

Hello everybody.
My name is Brandon, and I am 21 years old. I am a student at the University of Arizona majoring in MIS and accounting. I keep a blog that I try to update once a week. There should be a WWW button below this post that links to it.
My three favorite Disney movies are The Lion King, Toy Story 2, and Finding Nemo.
I am trying to someday own all of the Disney animated features with a minimum amount of double dipping. With this company, it is difficult, especially if you are a less-informed consumer. So far, the only movie I'll have bought twice on DVD is Mary Poppins (once the 2-disc edition comes out). The Ulitimate Disney site saved me from buying Dumbo twice, so I am grateful for that.
I look forward to getting to know some of you that post on the boards regularly. Along with Home Theater Forum, this site will probably become one I check everyday.
