Classics? Animated? What? I collect LIVE ACTION or something else you excluded from this poll in your nit-picky list.

Do you have a Complete Disney Classic Collection?

Post by DisneyGirl »

I tried doing a forum search for a thread like this, but thanks to MMB's siggy I found that rather hard. Anyway, My question is, Do you have a complete Disney Classic Collection?

For the purpose of uniformity, 'complete' shall be refered to as the following:
1) Owning all of the Full Length Animated Classic on DVD (NOT VHS!)
a) with the exception of Bambi, Cinderella and Aladdin.
b) if you've prepurchased Aladdin and would like to count it, be my guest.
2) Pixar movies are not included, however, you may state you 'have a complete Pixar collection as well'.
3) Disney Treasures will not be counted for this poll, however, again, you may state you have a complete DT collection in addition to your Classics.
4) Any and all Direct-to-Video sequels do not count. The Tigger Movie and Piglet's Big Movie will also not count for this poll, however, you may say if you have them if you like.

I myself have the entire collection, prepurchased Aladdin, and own the sequels. I also own most of the Disney Treasures. However, I only have the ones that I saw as interesting (Mickey, Donald, Goofy) and didn't get the others (Disneyland USA, Davey Crocket etc.)
I also hve the Pixar movies, Mickey Mouse movies (Snowed in at the House of Mouse, Mickey's House of Villians, Three Musketeers...) and all of the sequels.

Now, what does everyone else have?

I have a complete Pixar collection, but I'm missing a few of the Disney animated classics on DVD. I've got almost all of the ones I really like, or I will when they are released. I figure I'll get the rest at some point, when they're cheaper or maybe reissued with higher quality.

No, I'm missing a few here and there.
I almost have all of the animated Disney classic films on DVD.

I'm missing:

Aladdin
Cinderella
Bambi
The Little Mermaid
The Jungle Book
Pinocchio
Lady and the Tramp
Tarzan
Mulan
101 Dalmatians

But I have all of Pixar and some of the Direct to DVD and some sequels.
I'm still having kind of a long way to have the own set.
I wonder who has the Limited Issues of The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Mulan, etc.
But I have seen all of the Disney Animated film yes all 44 classic films. :)

Which ones are you missing?

I was the same way, I got all of the ones I really wanted, but then I ended up finding a few of the others for really cheap at stores around town or on the internet, I couldn't pass up the chance to get it so cheap, and now I have all of them!

From those that are available:

Saludos Amigos
The Three Caballeros
Make Mine Music
Fun and Fancy Free
Melody Time
Lady and the Tramp
101 Dalmatians
The Sword in the Stone
The Jungle Book
The Aristocats
The Fox and the Hound
The Black Cauldron

Waiting for 4 of those to go Platinum and the other 8 are a matter of having funds. The non-Platinum ones in this list are not my most favorites, but I really do like some (such as Fox and the Hound).

I've only got about half the sequels and I'm missing a few Classics as well. Mostly Platinums that have never been released (yet) or that I missed when DVD was in it's relative infancy (eg.I'm pretty sure Mulan was out here in 98, but I'll be getting it in a few weeks)

Interesting. I probably would purchase those too, but I have them on VHS, and that's suitable until they're released on DVD.

Other than Cinderella, Bambi and Aladdin I am missing:

Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Melody Time
Make Mine Music
Three Caballeros
Saludos Amigos

I honestly don't know if I will ever buy these. They really aren't things I care to watch. Someday I might get the Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad because what I remember from it was pretty entertaining.

My collection is about 3/4ths complete. However, I don't really desire to have every single animated classic. Some of them I just don't care to rewatch, so theres not point in having them just sit on my shelf unused. When all is said and done, I'll probably have most of them though, since I enjoy a majority.

I started my dvd collection in July and I have about 15 of the Animated Classics but a full Pixar collection. I've preordered the dvds coming soon (Aladdin/Mulan) and the ones next early year (Bambi/Pocahontas).
Im still missing alot, from the dvd's out now basically I'm missing all of the 1940's films from Fantasia to Cinderella, a few early eighties films like Oliver & company and all the films released after Mulan.

I don't have all of them. Most I have on video, actually. I know you're all going to kill me, but with some of the movies, I really can't be bothered upgrading them to DVD.

I'm missing a lot. I only own 17 animated classics out of the 41 released. I have a complete Pixar collection, though, but my live action collection is very slim (I only own 10 of them).

#2 on the poll.

Obviously, I don't have the unreleased ones, but I'm also missing:
- Make Mine Music (holding out for that uncut edition, which means I don't have a FULL version of Saludos either, although I do have the DVD)
- 101 Dalmatians
- The Jungle Book
- Mulan (although I have the new SE on order)

Otherwise I have the rest, sometimes multiple copies!
