Thanks for posting! Here are also some
plushies of Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle and a
3D Bag Clip Series I don't think I had seen before. I don't pay much attention to merchandise in general, so I don't know if this is the one to get more merch, but I'm surprised too by how many products it's getting.
The
prequel novel is too.

‘The Little Mermaid’: Inside Rob Marshall’s Private Screening With Matt Damon, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski
https://variety.com/2023/film/news/the- ... 235601354/
Weirdly, the article doesn't really go into details about the reactions of this screening, aside from some non-specific comments about the musical numbers getting applause, and all we really get is more of Bailey doing promotional stuff.
Is it weird that I reeeeeally want to know what Matt Damon thought about The Little Mermaid?
Interesting. I don't think I had heard of a private screening like that before. Usually, they're just for the cast and crew.

I actually do not mind the new "Kiss the Girl" lyrics. I also do not mind the
scale instead of a contract change, but, why not just have mermaids write in another language? It's that simple! And the amnesia thing, well, it's not too bad to me. We shall see if it helps or hinders the film. Maybe it adds some good drama, who knows.
Yeah, the lyric changes to "Kiss the Girl" and
the different way to sign the contract are not big changes.
The amnesia one, on the other hand, doesn't sound like a very good idea to me, but we'll see. Maybe you're right it might make the film more interesting. And you're right they could have just given merpeople their own language, but maybe then people would wonder why is it that they can speak the same language as humans, but not write it.
Regarding the new songs, I think I prefer the lyrics of "For the First Time" to "Wild Uncharted Waters". Now, that's the song I'm more excited to listen to once again. Also, it's curious Ariel singing "Ah... ah... ah..." is included in both "Wild Uncharted Waters" and the "Part of Your World" reprise. Could they have added it to the latter so Eric remembers that sound later when Vanessa sings it? "Your Voice" from the Broadway musical also featured that melody, but with lyrics instead of "Ah... ah... ah...".

If Part of Your World does end up being the first song, then it really will be a while before we hear any music in this film. That's not exactly great karma for a movie musical.
Yeah, that's a strange choice. I also expected "Fathoms Below" would be a more expanded version, like the one from the musical, especially since Eric also sings in it now, but it's almost as short as the film version of the original and shorter that the soundtrack version.

I'm pretty sure it'll do well. From what I've seen both online and IRL people are looking forward to this film, and I'm pretty sure that even people who plan to hate it will watch it.
Regarding critics, I predict a 6.0-7.3 score and an RT percentage of 60-75%, audience percentage will be 30-40%.
The world premiere will be next Monday and we'll already get the first reactions then. Although,
apparently some people have already seen it. I don't know when the review embargo lifts, though. That would be interesting to know.

I prefer the one used on the buses and taxies. It's much more appealing.
Yeah, that one is also great. Personally, I'm not sure which one I prefer.

I like this banner too, especially Ariel's section.
Me too, and I agree Ariel's section is the best one. It looks like those banners that are comprised of several individual posters, like the ones they did for
Alice in Wonderland, right? This art has also been spotted on a bus:
