Re: Frozen II
Another reason why "Home" should have never been replaced with "Some Things Never Change" aside from it being a better song and a better set-up to Anna's arc.

Re: Frozen II
^ I haven't heard "Home" actually.
That said, I adore "Some Things Never Change," I find it and "Show Yourself" to be the best songs and it opens the film on a high note to me. It will be interesting if they lose the lawsuit, probably won't be the first that happens to.
This aired on Freeform last night and I watched it because it's been a while. I still enjoy this film and I think in particular it's very good for a sequel to a fairy tale, those don't lend themselves well to sequels, imo. I think the scene where Olaf and Elsa both "die" is powerful, and I love the ending with Elsa riding into the sunset. She looks gorgeous in the new dress they gave her in that very last shot.
Since I'd posted on here in the past about how interesting the idea would've been of Elsa "dying" (with hints she lived) at the end of II leading into III only for her to come back in III as a villain (cold and austere like the Snow Queen in the tale), but I thought as I was watching it again that it would've been interesting if the voice calling her had turned out to be a villain luring her. Maybe a more straight Snow Queen who she accidentally unleashes. That would make sense, too, why she would call to Elsa--perhaps she could've been trapped until someone with her powers like her own could unleash her.

Re: Frozen II
Something that came to my attention recently and I thought it perhaps might be an interesting discussion is how they made Anna more "boy crazy" in this film compared to the original. In the original she wasn't boy crazy as much as she was lonely and thought that there might be an opportunity to meet someone, and it comes across as something she just thought about instead of something she wanted her entire life.
I heard that the musical also made this change to her character compared to the original film.
What do you think? Why do you think they made this change?

Re: Frozen II
Anna is "boy crazy" in Frozen II? ?? From what I recall, most of her plot and dialogue revolved around Elsa, not wanting Elsa to go into danger. Now, Kristoff, on the other hand, his only plot here was obsessing about proposing to Anna.

Until Frozen III comes out, it's nice something managed to do that well again.

Well, for all the latest theories of how animated movies haven`t been big attractions at the Box Office anymore, this is certainly an exception

What I think "Mario" confirms is that franchise movies are the future of the box office, animated or otherwise. If "Elemental" performs half as well, then maybe people will start paying attention.DisneyFan09 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 8:14 am Well, for all the latest theories of how animated movies haven`t been big attractions at the Box Office anymore, this is certainly an exception![]()
Re: Frozen II
I don't think Elemental will do well, too much competition. I think Disney should have released it in the beginning of March when there was basically nothing, now it's up against both Spider-Verse and Indiana Jones among other things.PatchofBlue wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 10:58 am What I think "Mario" confirms is that franchise movies are the future of the box office, animated or otherwise. Re: Frozen II
Yeah, I was thinking about how there were practically no family films released between Puss in Boots and Mario. There was a potential window for Strange Magic to do better than it did prior to PiB or to try Elemental a little early and cash in on a demographic that had few options.Farerb wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 11:06 amI don't think Elemental will do well, too much competition. Re: Frozen II
I wouldn't be surprised if The Little Mermaid remake and Elemental both underperform. I still hope Wish manages to succeed though since I've liked most of what I've seen thus far and I think it has decent chances with it being a princess film as well as the 100th anniversary. Who knows though.

Re: Frozen II
My question would be how much of a woke agenda is in Mario Bros?
None, you say?
Just pure entertainment with no virtue signaling?
Maybe that’s the difference....
Just wonderin’...

Re: Frozen II
Illumination's movies are terrible, yet they keep on succeeding. Unfortunately I predict that other studios will stop putting effort in them and all movies will be like Illumination's.

carolinakid, you must have missed all the controversy about the movie being “woke” by empowering Princess Peach.carolinakid wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 12:35 pm My question would be how much of a woke agenda is in Mario Bros?

Re: Frozen II
I thought the movie wouldn't do that well after not getting good reviews, but it seems this is one of those cases where critics and audiences are not on the same page, as it got an A CinemaScore and an excellent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. I don't think it has any awards chances, though.

Oh, I did umbrellafish! I know nothing about the film except how well it did at the box office this weekend, so I was just wondering. I don’t follow any animation but Disney.UmbrellaFish wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 1:11 pmcarolinakid, you must have missed all the controversy about the movie being “woke” by empowering Princess Peach.carolinakid wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 12:35 pm My question would be how much of a woke agenda is in Mario Bros?

Re: Frozen II
Well, not exactly. As someone who follows the "discourse" surrounding animation on social media, while there was initial apprehension and concern by some "girl power" moments in the trailer and some comments made by Anya Taylor-Joy in the press, these anti-woke YouTubers and social media personalities after watching the film have said that those few moments aren't distracting and Peach overall stays true to her character from the games. They all gave the film positive reviews. Make that what you will.UmbrellaFish wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 1:11 pmcarolinakid, you must have missed all the controversy about the movie being “woke” by empowering Princess Peach.
