Does the song make sense, or serve the story? Not really, but he needed more of a song in the first, so we're giving him one now. How disappointing.
Yeah, that whole sequence was embarrassing and cringe-worthy. Kristoff's presence in the film was entirely superfluous. They gave him nothing to do and turned him into a co-dependent joke instead of digging deeper into his character. The seeds were there in the original. Since he hit it off with the Northuldra, they could have made him feel conflicted on whether to stay there where he was so welcomed and felt like he belonged or go back to Aredelle where he never really fit in. His song could have been about that dilemma. It wasn't that hard.

I don't think Kristoff's song is bad in and out of itself, it just wasn't related to the story of the film or the main story (whatever it is). Watching Into the Unknown, I think one of the issues they had to face was that the Lopezes had written good songs they didn't want to get rid of, but they just didn't fit whatever they wanted the story to be. If they had wanted Jonathan Groff to sing they could have achieved that, but the issue with Kristoff was his story, he was irrelevant and useless and literally disappeared in the middle of the film only to appear out of nowhere to save Anna.

I'll agree that the song, on its own, is not bad. It's placement in the film is just plain awful. I suppose you could make an excuse for it in that the story overall was in disarray. I think LitW, and Kristoff''s whole plot line was originally created for a different version of this movie. I assume they liked what they created for him and roughly shoe horned it into the new story. I doubt they had time to smooth out the result, so in the end we got whatever his story was. Afterall, Kristoff isn't the main selling point of the franchise so I think the attention went elsewhere. It's just irritating how it all played out without seemingly any consequence for them.

I don't mind "Lost in the Woods" or Kristoff's storyline or the placement in the film. Now, the sequence to "Lost in the Woods" itself was a little goofier than the rest of the film, but it still makes me chuckle a little.

"Lost in the Woods" was my favorite song from the soundtrack. The whole sequence was super fun, and it reminded me so much of the video for "Bohemian Rhapsody". When I saw it in the theater, I laughed out loud when Sven began singing along with Kristoff.

^ Same!!!!! I love the reindeers singing along and I laughed at the theater, too. Easily my favorite Disney song of the past few years.

Well, to be fair, the original Frozen wasn`t exactly a comedy either. It was quite serious in tone, so I don`t find it surprising that the sequel was the same. No offense, though.

Agreed. The song wasn`t exactly bad, it was just awfully generic. It was the execution of the scene that was cringe-worthy.

I never felt Frozen was serious in tone, maybe it had serious moments, but it had Olaf and the trolls too. To me its humor feels like it's aimed for a much younger audience than the humor in other Disney films. To be honest I feel the same about Frozen II. They are pretty much the same in their tone, even though they tried to do something more mature in the second one, and then got scared after test screenings because the kids were confused. Their conclusion was that they needed more Olaf and more of that fire lizard.

Fair enough. To be frank, I felt Frozen II was less haunting and harrowing than it`s predecessor, but still mature in tone.

I think there is no need to make frozen3. It is because in Frozen II Princess Anna becomes the Queen and Elsa becomes the protector of the enchanted forest and live among the Northuldran people. Anna had also accepted Kristoff's marriage proposal, and life in the magical kingdom appeared to be at peace. But let's see what happens next in the 3rd part if it comes to the theatres.

I agree with you, the first Frozen was pretty serious in tone. I did think Frozen II had fewer light moments, but it didn't feel like a massive tonal shift from the first film at all. In fact, I'd say most of the scenes of Elsa afraid in the first film are much darker than anything in the sequel.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm actually excited about Frozen III, but I really hope it will be more similar in tone to Frozen rather than Frozen II. I also wish for something more Anna centric, as I always considered her character superior to Elsa.

Agreed. At least the scenes with Elsa`s struggle and turmoil were really harrowing and more than anything in Frozen II. I can see how people would consider Frozen II to be dark and mature, but at least it wasn`t as harrowing and heart-wrenching than it`s predecessor.

Honestly, I've been suspicious of a lot of new members joining all at once. I mean, good for the site if they're real, but I had wondered if there might be bots (since there were some spam threads posted yesterday, too). The world is becoming so creepy.

We got a bit of a surprise announcement that there would be a Frozen III happening.

ROBERT: It was to us, as well.

Please tell me that you’ll be returning to do the music for that. Did they tell you that was coming?

KRISTEN: They told us, the day of, and a little bit about what they’re thinking. It got us very excited. Now, we have to let the wheels of Hollywood do what they do, but we were very excited with their ideas.

The Lopezes didn't even know Frozen 3 was happening? I can't believe they found out the same day it was announced. Did Iger decide on a third one on his own and just told the studio to make it?

I don’t know, dude. Feels to me like this was bound to happen before Iger said it would happen, even when Kristen Bell said as such.

This thread should explain everything: https://twitter.com/kylekozmikdluxo/sta ... 43744?s=46.

Yeah, Frozen III was definitely a lock. But it could be that everyone (Lee, the Lopezes, etc.) planned to take a bit of a break after II before coming back to work on III. Perhaps Iger hurried it down the schedule to help Disney's bottom line (and his own image) since it's one of the few guaranteed hits they have on their hands.
