I think the Midnight Masquerade Evil Queen looks to similiar to Narissa from Enchanted. If you changed the name of the Evil Queen doll to Narissa nobody would noticed it wasn't her, honestly.

Yeah Amy, that mask is just oval!
Thanks unprincess for the link, really shows me Lady T's (love that nickname for her!) getup much better and I love it even more now, even though you're right, she would never wear something like that! The live-action version of her would, but not the animated one!

For the 30th Anniversary of Beauty and the Beast, Disney released limited edition dolls of Belle and the Beast on November 8, 2021. They decided to give them clothes of an even older fairy tale time than the film, it seems. I love the decision. The both look so fairy tale and so creative and so beautiful!

The faces look really nice, and I don't often feel that way about dolls these days. I suppose they wanted to retain the two characters' most dominant colors--Belle's blue dress and the Beast's purple cloak--in a more fanciful ballroom attire. Interesting.

Listening to most often lately:

Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

I hadn't considered that. They took the colors people remember about them as their main colors and put those in their fancy date night clothes. I always thought Belle was more known for her yellow dress, but it could be her blue dress actually. I don't know.

the outfits are actually based on original concept art made for the film, there was a promo that had the art alongside the dolls. The image was on the shopdisney.com home page but I cant seem to find it anywhere anymore not even on Google.

^Is it this one?

I saw it on Instagram some days ago. Normally, I don't pay much attention to dolls, but the fact that they had used a piece of concept art as inspiration for the outfits caught my attention, as I had never seen something like that being done before.

yes that's it, thanks for finding it D82! I think its a really classy idea for a Disney collector doll series. If I could afford the set I would have gotten one. A whole series of Princess dolls dressed in concept art inspired costumes would be really cool.

You're both welcome!
I agree it's a cool idea.

They're beautiful. Especially Jasmine. She looks gorgeous in red. There was a fanart I saw on Instagram with them wearing these outfits.

Re: Disney Store Exculsive 17" Princess Dolls
these designs have been really hit or miss for me so far. I think Pocahontas and Mulan have been my favorite so far(though I think all the black on Mulan is a bit too much, makes her look like a goth, lol). And I like Ariel's although I think its a bit odd thematically on her. I take it the artist was going for a seashell/Birth of Venus look, but it makes her look like a Grecian goddess...its nice but it doesn't say "Ariel" to me. I'm really curious what they'll do for Snow White, Merida and Moana.

I agree with you, unprincess, about Ariel. She is supposed to look like The Birth of Venus, but she looks like she has a feather thing going on. I can't wait for Aurora, she looks so gorgeous already. I won't be buying her, but the pics are nice. I hope Cindy is great, too.

oh yeah, I need to wait to see better pics of the Aurora and Tiana dolls. So far I like the ombre effect of Aurora's skirt but I wish the outer skirt wasn't sheer/see-thru. Tiana's seems to be inspired by her Almost There gown but the shawl/cape thing and the headpiece makes her look like a Grecian Goddess too.

Re: Disney Store Exculsive 17" Princess Dolls
so here's the Tiana and Aurora dolls:
https://www.shopdisney.com/disney-desig ... %2520Shows
https://www.shopdisney.com/disney-desig ... gory-Dolls
So it seems that Aurora's skirt isn't sheer, there are large window designs with the castle and spinning wheel on it. Its a nice idea but I dont like how crooked the windows look on the dress. Also I always feel that an Aurora doll needs bangs or she just ends up looking like Rapunzel, Cinderella with long hair or Barbie.
Tiana is gorgeous as a "fashion" doll. Like with Aurora I feel that the long flowing hair(although pretty) keeps her from looking like Tiana, she should have a shorter hairstyle. With the long hair and grecian style gown she actually looks more like one of the muses. But yeah if she was a Barbie doll Id buy her.

Tiana would have looked much better with a short hairstyle like the one that She wears when Facilier tries to make her change her mind in the movie. With this hairstyle She looks like Donna Summer.
