Harry Styles as The Prince in live action Snow White?
According to The Disinsider, it seems he's in talk.

Sorry everyone else - I have nothing to say on the live-action adaptation of Snow White.

I wish Harry Styles had been Eric in the TLM remake. Oh, well. I hope he ends up in this at least.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
I remember DisInsider also said he would be playing Eric in the live-action Little Mermaid, which obviously didn't happen. So take that with a massive grain of salt.veu wrote:Harry Styles as The Prince in live action Snow White?

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
From what I remember, they said he was in talks to possibly play Eric in TLM, but ultimately passed on it. That doesn't sound out of the realm of reality. After all, Emma Watson was in talk to play Cinderella and passed on it before agreeing to play Belle.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
To get technical, The Hollywood Reporter first revealed that Harry Styles was in talks for the role, but The DisInsider later on reported that he had officially signed on which was not the case. The website Giant Freakin' Robot also reported that Harry Styles is in talks for the role, but they are not exactly known for their trustworthiness either.

Gal Gadot To Play Evil Queen In Disney’s Live-Action ‘Snow White’
https://deadline.com/2021/11/snow-white ... 234867535/
Did they look at Gal Gadot before casting her? How the heck would someone like her feel threatened by anyone?

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Nice! I've never seen a Gal Gadot movie, but excited to see her in this. She's certainly attractive.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Well, this is funny because I believe somebody had suggested Gal Gadot play Snow White back near the beginning of the thread (I had been for it, personally). I would never have guessed she'd end up in this movie after all, only as the Evil Queen!
At least she is very beautiful. Thank God it wasn't that woman from The Favorite, she wouldn't have fit at all. Gadot and the music are definitely the things I'm looking forward to with this.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
I'm on board with this as well. While Gal doesn't come to mind when you think about the Evil Queen, with some good makeup they can make her look older and more menacing and have her resemble the character more closely. I'm a bit concerned about her singing abilities though since I'm assuming her character will get her own song. Gal can carry a tune as evidenced by the few bars she sang in Ralph Breaks the Internet, but I don't think anyone would call her a gifted singer. Overall, not a bad choice; Disney could have done much worse.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
In retrospect, if they had cast Rodrigo as SW, I'd say I would have peak excitement for this with Gadot being cast as the Queen. Zegler may end up being alright, but I can easily envision a dynamic between Rodrigo and Gadot since I've liked them both in other things.

Gal Gadot has already confirmed her casting and talked a bit about the movie at the premiere of her film Red Notice: https://twitter.com/Variety/status/1456093904357392387
Exactly, why is the Queen always more beautiful than Snow White in the live-action Snow White movies? Well, beauty is, of course, something completely subjective, so this is just my personal opinion, but I find both Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron prettier than their respective co-stars in Mirror Mirror and Snow White & the Huntsman, and I think this movie's the same case. Anyway, I like Gal Gadot and I think it's a good casting choice for the role of the Queen.rodrigo_ca wrote:Did they look at Gal Gadot before casting her? It's really nice seeing how excited she is for this. She always comes across as genuinely kind and down to earth in her interviews.D82 wrote:Gal Gadot has already confirmed her casting and talked a bit about the movie at the premiere of her film Red Notice: https://twitter.com/Variety/status/1456093904357392387

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
While I have to admit I'm glad they didn't go with someone white (as much as I love Lady Gage and Olivia Colman, that Queen/Snow White dynamic would have just been weird), I'm slightly apprehensive about Gadot's acting abilities for it. She's definitely a star, I just hope she can provide the vampy elements the role is usually associated with. We've had a number of great portrayals of this role in the last 10 years, so I hope the official Disney one doesn't disappoint.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
You are right to be. While Gal can be good in certain roles, her range is limited. I think she'll do a serviceable job as the Evil Queen, but don't expect her to be as good as Jolie in Maleficent or Theron in Snow White and the Huntsman.lord-of-sith wrote:I'm slightly apprehensive about Gadot's acting abilities for it.

Like Awkwafina as Scuttle and Erivo as the Blue Fairy, Gadot as the Queen is one of those few out of left field picks Disney has been making that will actually work, imo. TBH, I didn't think Theron would be good as the Queen either before she was; her performance wasn't a guaranteed knockout beforehand anymore than Gadot here. Jolie in Disney's Maleficent, on the other hand, was one of those perfect casts Disney seldom makes anymore. I think the only perfect casts Disney's made lately is Josh Gad as Quasimodo and Tom Hanks as Geppetto.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Well, my reaction to the casting of Gal Gadot seems to be on par with everyone else: She`s not the first actress I would cast as the Evil Queen. But I don`t find her a total miscast either. So I`m overall lukewarm about the casting
. But who knows? Maybe she could pull it off?
