I vividly remember an Instagram post from Dwayne Johnson implying the two weeks of reshoots were related to the third act (the tree of life climax). So, they didn't film Jack Whitehall's scenes all over again. Editing some content out is possible, though.

'The Making of Jungle Cruise' book has been canceled. It has been removed from Disney's website and from third-party sellers. It was supposed to be released on June 15, 2021 after multiple delays. The only tie-in book for the film now is a Little Golden Book. I wonder if the cancellation had to do with the film's delay, lack of interest or the refurbishment of the ride.

Artemis Fowl's making-of book came out, so I can't imagine lack of interest making a book not be released for this film, right? Hopefully it's your last suggestion, that they'll wait until the attractions have had their updates completed.

Am I the only one who thinks this happened because Disney wanted to scrub all the evidence of homophobia from the movie?? Can't just be me thinking that.

I didn't get any of the references. I learned about the "backside of water" joke after the first trailer because people were commenting on it.

I'm not interested in it, but I'll probably see it whenever it inevitably ends up on TV. I went to Disney World once as a child, but I have no memory of this ride. Is it only at Disneyland or is at them both?

The ride is at both US parks, and Tokyo and Hong Kong.

I'm really excited !!! The trailers looks great, 100% Pirates vibe from it.

I know the references as I love to watch ride - throughs of the US parks and things

I love the funny banter between Dwayne and Emily when they were releasing their own personal version of the trailer. You can't help but love the two of them

Will be my first cinema trip post pandemic ! I wanted to do Cruella, but with the indian strain of the virus being quite rampant here at the time, I didn't, and just did premiere access on Disney+ instead. But this will be the first proper cinema trip ! SO EXCITED

These days it seems like a film doesn’t even have to do that well to get a sequel thanks to Disney+. Cruella, for example.

This makes me sad tbh. I pre-ordered the book in March 2020 (when we thought the film was coming out last summer), so I was sad to see it was cancelled. I am however surprised that Disney is not releasing any sort of book tie-ins for the film besides the Golden Book. Every live action release has received at least one or two tie-in novels recently (The Nutcracker & the Four Realms, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Pete's Dragon, Cruella, even Tomorrowland). I have been expecting to see at least a Junior Novelization released for the film, but nothing. I wonder if they are waiting to see how the film does before any further book tie-ins are made?

It's quite surprising indeed. I wonder if they initially planned for more, but scaled back due to lack of interest. At this point, there's been more chatter about Artemis Fowl (albeit negative) than Jungle Cruise. We're less than a month away from its release and none of the new trailers or promotion seem to have made an impact. Unless Disney turns it around with some clever and memorable marketing on the home stretch, I don't see this being a hit.

I wanted to buy that book. Amazon even had a preview with the cover and a page from the book last year.

I'm sensing very little awareness or enthusiam for it too. Unless Asia (where Dwayne Johnson is a draw) saves it, I think it will bomb. But it's a win and lose situation for me either way because I'd love if it did well (I remember when it was announced in 2018, I thought maybe it could end up being Emily Blunt's highest grossing film yet), but I really don't need sequels ('Ball and Chain' is already covering more Emily Blunt/Dwayne Johnson future collaborations and has a writer who gives me much more confidence).

For what it's worth, I'm excited for it. For the kind of films Jaume Collet-Serra makes, he's a very reliable director from the few I saw ('House of Wax', 'Orphan', Non-Stop', 'The Shallows' and 'The Commuter'). He knows how to grip and entertain you with a good dose of mindless fun.

Well I do remember Sean Bailey Saying that he would like this to be a new Pirates of the Caribbean esque Franchise/having a strong desire to find a Theatrical franchise that’s not WDFA, Pixar, Live action Remake, Marvel or Lucas film. Of course, every single time Disney Has tried to do this In the past [prince of Persia, John Carter, the Lone Ranger, tomorrow land [also loosely based on a Disney land property], It always ends up not working out, even for moderate Hits like OZ The great and powerful, And Narnia. We can only pray hope and do all that we can in our power to help jungle Cruise do well, even if not for sequel/universe, but so that more of these kinds of movies can be made and we don’t run into another Situation like having Tron 3 be cancelled Because of tomorrowland bombing etc.

I’d recommend not only trying to see jungle Cruise as many times as you can in theaters, and also watch it on Disney+ premium. Again if nothing else to avoid having another kind of situation like I mentioned above and to also help/support Disney Getting more money in order to still keep making these kinds of movies/money for the company overall, For is the only way not only for this kind of support that so they can have more money . For anything in the company overall and in order for them to turn things around/have things be better

^He's probably right about that last sentence, but I don't think this film will be that similar to The African Queen.

By the way, we're just ten days away from the release and we haven't even gotten social media reactions from critics, right? I'm a little worried about the reviews.

It's not my most anticipated film of the year, but I am excited for it. I like both Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt and I tend to like adventure films, so I think I'll probably enjoy it.

As for the ride, I'm not familiar with it at all. This will probably surprise you guys, but I've never been to a Disney park. I wanted to go to Disneyland Paris when I was a child, which is the closest Disney park for me, and I even saved some money for that, but I never got to go. I'm mainly a fan of the movies and visiting a Disney park is not a top priority for me now, but it would be nice to go to one someday.

I agree, they're very funny. And it's a clever way of promoting the film. I also liked the exhibitor-exclusive posters and their vintage feel.
