Thank you for restoring order!

And I had no idea you were a mod. I'm glad we have some fresh blood in that category because it's been long overdue.

Disney's Divinity wrote:You can think what you like. *shrug* My impression of people here is only what they post. Jules and estefan regularly attack people for not being positive enough in their eyes, I'm not sure what they expect, for people to have a great impression of them for that. Is that supposed to be "fun" for the people they're attacking? Just wondering!
I respectfully disagree that they attack people, but you are allowed to think what you want. Of course, they can defend themselves, as has Jules in this thread.

Maybe now that Pixar does Hand Drawn animated shorts, maybe Disney could outsource the animation to them?

I really don't think they need to! I am certain there is enough talent at WDAS to manage a short film. I would bet that many of the CG animators can do hand-drawn, even if not to the same calibre as those who specialise in it. I am certain their work would be professional and of a very high standard nevertheless.

Unfortunately, they don't:

I am certain they can! :) It's just that so far they've chosen not to.

Like Sotiris, I am not sure the lack of a 2D pipeline is a valid excuse.

I truly do not know why they won't make even a 2D short, but I won't speculate that it's some anti-hand-drawn bias at the studio. These people are animators. How can they possibly 'dislike' hand-drawn?

If so, they're working in the wrong industry, lol. :P

I agree, it's simply an excuse. I think Disney is scared if they do anything hand-drawn at WDAS, it'll put a spotlight on the genre's death there, cause people to ask for its return more, and they don't want to encourage that talk any more than they have to. I hope PIXAR won't animate for this. :headshake:

Why not use the same Hand drawn animated sources They are using AtDisney television animation Shows like Amphibia, the owl house etc. that are currently airing on Disney Channel? Heck even Made 2-D animated TV shows From CG animated movies Like tangled and big hero six, When Sofia the first Especially proved that the former could be done in CG And still look fine and very likely at a reasonable budget, and the Latter getting cancelled early so that WDFA can make their own Baymax CG TV series, Proving that even if it is mostly for economical reasons that hand drawn animation it’s not completely 100% dead in the Disney Co. overall

I'm not sure if this was already known or not, but Joan Bergin is the costume designer on the film.
Emmy-winning costume designer Joan Bergin has also been brought on board as producers make the most of Ireland’s home-grown talent.

I wish they could hire Don Bluth's team as he is really trying to keep traditional alive at the moment.

That would be wonderful, Redadoodles, but I doubt that would happen. It's kind of funny that Don Bluth went off on his own nearly forty years ago to do what Disney would've done because the Disney company itself had lost its way only for them to get back on track, and now all these years later Don Bluth has more hand-drawn talent available than Disney probably does.

yeay! James is so cute! Will be nice to see Idina in a live action role (she deserves better than car insurance ads.) I just hope they dont overdo the Frozen jokes(but you know they will.)

also very happy they FINALLY confirmed it will have hand drawn animation! I just hope they keep the warm toned art nouveau look of the first film.

I thought they just said it would have animation. Not hand-drawn animation specifically.

Wow! Based on that photograph I am truly realising how time is passing.

Not sure how old James Marsden is. He looks good, of course! :) But he has more of a ruggedly handsome guy-in-his-40s look now than a pretty and smooth-skinned guy-in-his-20s look. (Between you all and I, I prefer the former, but don't tell anyone! Shhhh! :P )

I am certain that is just a terrible photograph of Idina. Sometimes photographs can capture people with an 'intermediate' expression that is never really visible in real life. I'm guessing this was a quick photo, as Idina's hair also seems out of place and odd-looking.

It's a facial expression we make when transitioning between other expressions. It's never noticed in real life, but a photo can reveal it and make you look like a completely different person! :P

To be fair, Idina is smiling there ... so I don't think it is an intermediate expression. Still, she looks nothing like herself!

Of course, I am basing my evaluation of her regular looks on what she looks like in what I've seen her in. I've never met her, haha!
