Disney Board Games

Post by Chernabog_Rocks »

My first new topic in years!

During my hiatus, I became addicted to board games. The last three years or so, there's been a ton of great Disney ones released and thought it would be a fun topic. Here's a short list:

Villainous + 4 expansions: Play as your favorite villains! Each villain has their own unique board, deck of cards, enemy deck, and mover.

Marvel Villainous: A spin-off of the above with one release currently out, and a second on the way.

Hocus Pocus: A quicker, somewhat easier game where you face off against the Sanderson Sisters by messing up their potion.

Jungle Cruise: Drive your boat to the end of the river while trying to solve a mystery (or not) while keeping your passengers and cargo safe from the jungle. Lots of puns abound.

Haunted Mansion: An interesting card collecting game, as you try and collect ghosts in certain sets to maximize your score.

It's A Small World: This one is still not released, but is another interesting one based off a Disneyland ride

Disney Codenames: You give one word clues to your team and hope they pick the right cards from a grid.

Disney Meme: Create fun memes using pictures of Disney characters, vote for the best each round.

These are just the ones off the top of my head/ones that I own, and do not include re-themed versions of Monopoly, or Yahtzee etc. There are also a ton of Star Wars oriented games that are quite popular, and other Marvel ones as well such as the Marvel Champions card game. Which ones have you played? Are there any (probably) that I missed?

The Jungle Cruise game sounds fun, and I'm definitely interested in Villainous. I used to have Disney Scene It but I donated it years ago because no one ever wanted to play it with me. I have a Disney Eye Spy game that I got a couple years ago...besides that, I don't think I have other Disney games except for a couple decks of playing cards.

This was apparently just recently released but I haven't had a chance to get it yet. I like that Minnie is included. It looks really fun from the pics like the actual beanstalk!

I've played Villainous once or twice and I thought it was pretty fun. I think it was just the regular version and not one of the expansions, and Prince John was a surprisingly robust character.

I own the Haunted Mansion game but haven't had a chance to play it yet, and I had the trivia game from the 90's, which I loved. At D23, I saw that they made a new version of that game and it looks like a lot of fun, with new questions and everything. I should look into that when I get a new job.
