Disney's Divinity saying Brandy was on The View promoting this coming to Disney+ reminded me that I read somewhere, may have been the Oral History article, but it's too long a read to find out, that Whitney Houston once told someone this was her favorite project. The most famous fairy tale with good doses of feminism, great music, and a multi-racial cast? Makes sense! I love that this was her favorite project. Really makes me happy. This is truly a special movie.

Thanks for those Sotiris. I can't watch the reunion till later, but I read the articles and listened to the podcast! How special this movie was to people is so great to hear! And I think in that podcast Debra was talking about how they almost got Julie Andrew's to be the Queen but she couldn't for whatever reason, and Debra couldn't tell us for whatever reasons.

Wow, that video! Did Disney have a hand in that? It’s pretty impressive to get the participation of all the surviving cast (which includes several living legends). I know Disney already has a working relationship with Todrick Hall.

Just started this on Disney+. Was this filmed on videotape? I was hoping it would be in HD, but the picture quality isn’t much better than the old DVD I have. :/ Nevertheless, I’m glad it’s available for more people to enjoy. Definitely one of my favorites!

EDIT: Wiki says it was photographed on film, so there’s really no excuse for it to look this poor.

Thank you for posting that video bruno_wbt!!! It was so wonderful! They used the 1950 Cinderella storybook journal! And where did they get those beautiful dolls? The look so well-made!!! And did they make that Cinderella dress Brandy wore just for this video? I really enjoyed Brandy's singing! Especially "In My Own Little Corner"!

Todrick Hall is awesome. He loves Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz, like me! He has made at least three videos of each story. Those are my two favorite stories in the world! What deal does he have with Disney Brelly?

Duster, the dolls were custom-made by a collector who runs this Instagram account, check out his other work too, it's amazing.

He wrote “Magic Happens,” the main theme of the Magic Happens Parade which opened at Disneyland last year. Here you can see it: https://youtu.be/rR-KP8KH1Ng

Mooky, thank you for showing me that guy/girl's Instagram! Their work is exactly the stuff I am into! It's awesome! I can't believe they could make such film accurate dolls!

Brelly, I am so disappointed to hear that even though the movie was shot on film, it doesn't look much better on Disney+ than the DVD. God, I really want a Blu-ray!

Thank you for telling me what Todrick Hall did for Disney! The song's...a song. Lol. Usually never like those Disney show songs except for their musicals, usually based on their movies.

I saw this film last weekend because I've never seen it before and I have to admit that It's really cute! One of this movies that didn't have much budget but with so less money they can transport you to the world they've created. It remind me to the old tv show The fairytale theatre.

Even though it's original, it's my least favorite of the three. I detest the costumes and sets. At least it has a very good actress and singer, but even she can't make the script sing.

They're airing a cast reunion (followed by the film, naturally) on ABC on August 23rd. I'll definitely watch, although it's such a shame Whitney Houston and Natalie Desselle-Reid have both passed away. Especially Houston, since the whole show came about because of her. :( Billy Porter was also shown in the commercial, probably as someone commenting on how the film's impact and everything.

I had heard about this on BroadwayWorld. I hope I remember to tape it! I agree, shame we couldn't get those women in this special, it's sad without them.
