Star Wars DVD

Post by TheZue »

Well I'm watching Empire Strikes Back right now, and it's not too bad:D

There are changes, but they don't stick out like a sore thumb like the late 90's version did. Mainly the special effects just look updated but the original style is intact. The big difference I really noticed so far is Obi-Wan's ghost looks quite a bit different. The Tawn Tawn still moves the same way, which was one of the things I was really worried about.

I'll post more updates once I've watched all three.

Yes, I'll be getting a review copy tomorrow (hopefully) of the film formerly known as Star Wars (now know as Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope). Yay!

Sucky Fox are making us send the review discs back though, which is not something they normally do.

Still, hopefully I will also have a full review of Star Wars (just the first one) online within the next 24 hours.

I still find it amusing that stuff updated only a few years ago needs to be updated again to fit George Lucas's ever-changing vision (e.g. Jabba scene). Either that or CGI JUST DOESN'T LOOK THAT GOOD. Hopefully Empire is left as (relatively) untouched as the 1997 edition was.
