One of the most pleasant developments in the last five years or so is Disney’s embrace of Hocus Pocus as a millennial cult classic.

Probably what it already has on the newest Blu-ray release.

The last edition was a real let down since it didn't include the deleted scenes that fans have been dying to see for years now.

God, I hope Zavvi will make a steelbook with this design, so I can purchase it, too. They did it with Aladdin and The Wizard of Oz

What a cute cover. But I bought the Target exclusive of the last release on Blu-ray, so I don't want to buy it again. I think I have like four or five copies of it at this point.

Oh wow, I really do like that. I'm half tempted to pick it up even though I have the Target edition.

‘Hocus Pocus’: Disney Rerelease Casting Unexpected Spell At Weekend Box Office
https://deadline.com/2020/10/hocus-pocu ... 234590815/
...what looks to be a $1.6M-$1.8M estimated weekend in the No. 2 spot behind Tenet. That’s arguably the biggest amount of weekend cash we’ve seen for a catalog title during the pandemic...More impressive is the fact that Hocus Pocus aired on Disney sister cable network Freeform two nights ago on Oct. 1 with Midler live-tweeting.

have you guys seen all the cute merch thats been released this year?
https://www.shopdisney.com/search?q=hoc ... utosuggest

more merch from this year and years past:
https://www.google.com/search?q=hocus+p ... 4logD7bEYM

that new Binks plush is very tempting. He's my favorite character along with Billy and Sarah.

I was never a huge fan of this film when it came out, I thought it was cute if a bit corny. I rewatched it recently acouple years ago and its a very comfy film. Though I would have never guessed it would end up getting the cult following that it did. Anyone have any guesses as to why its become so popular nowadays? Is it millennial nostalgia similar to Hercules current popularity?

It’s millennial nostalgia. We watched it every single Halloween of our childhoods, on Disney Channel and ABC Family. It’s like The Wizard of Oz, It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, some of Disney’s animated classics, etc.— the repeated TV viewings made it into a classic.

And I agree with you— it is a comfy film!

Well, I always thought the film was actually good and that's why it was popular. People could say it's not really a good film all they want but there's no way it's only nostalgia making them watch it all the time. I was always very interested in the movie and the kids around me always wanted to play Hocus Pocus when we recently watched it.
