Question on Kaitlyn Robrock

Post by Big Disney Fan »

We know that Kaitlyn Robrock is now the (un)official voice of Minnie Mouse. However, I have a question about her:

Most sources say she was born on December 30, 1983. However, I'm not quite sure I believe that. First of all, there's her profile picture, which looks somewhat older than that:

Additionally, there's also some of her voice credits. For instance, in the English dub of "Jojo's Bizarre Adventures", she voices Mrs. Hazekura, while in the English dub of "Aggretsuko", she voices Retsuko's Mother. In addition, she voices Mrs. Budnick in "Golan the Insatiable", a nanny in "Doc McStuffins", and Mrs. Gristidi in "ThunderCats Roar".

So between her profile picture and some of her voice credits, I have a feeling she should have been born much earlier than 1983.

I don’t see any indication that she is any age different than what she says she is, and to be honest, it isn’t anyone’s business but her own.

I'm pretty sure the first place I saw that birth date was Wikipedia, which is not necessarily the most reliable website in the world.

I can't believe this is an actual question being asked on a Disney forum. :|

I went to check Robrock's filmography on IMDB, but her date of birth was missing. I went to add it in, but for some reason, it's always demanding a "reason" for inclusion. I deliberately avoided Wikipedia because it's not very reliable and went elsewhere.

Actually, Wikipedia has been a fairly reliable resource for several years now. While editing is still open to the public, sources also need to be added for any uploaded information. It's not a free-for-all as it used to be. There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't believe that Robrock was born in 1983.

I've noticed that there are actors who sometimes voice characters that are much older than their age. One example that comes to mind is Toks Olagundoye, who voices Mrs. Beakley in the new DuckTales TV series. In Kaitlyn Robrock's case, maybe she has a maternal voice or some other quality in her voice that makes her suitable to play older characters. And to me she looks like she could have very well been born in 1983, so I think that birth date is most likely correct. But, personally, I don't see anything wrong with you asking that question and it's normal that you thought she could be older when she has voiced so many characters who are quite old.

At the very least, based on her picture, Olagundlye does kind of look her age. With Robrock, I don't know, it just seems a bit older.
