I - like so many of you - love everything Disney. So I really do not have a favorite of anything period. I favor all things Disney. Having said that, one of these animated classics from the 1970s is one of the ones I think very highly of: Robin Hood. I really like everything about it and to me it is one of the more fun films that the company has produced. I like the animation and the great stars that provided the voice talents for the film. I also really love all of the songs performed and written by Roger Miller.

This was an easy decade to rank too. I love both The Rescuers and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, but The Rescuers is my clear favorite. Bernard and Bianca are two of my favorite Disney characters and I love the mystery of the plot. As for the other two films, I just like them. I don't think The Aristocats is one of the best Disney films, but at least it has an original plot and likeable characters, while Robin Hood is the worst from the decade in my opinion, but I still find it enjoyable.
1. The Rescuers
2. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
3. The Aristocats

My ranking is:
1. The Aristocrat
2. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
3. The Rescuers
4. Robin Hood
TBH I'm not much of a fan of these films.

I'll go with The Rescuers, but I barely even remember the films from this era. Seemed like a real dud of a decade.

Re: Favorite Disney Animated Classic from the 70s?
Like D82, I was torn between The Rescuers and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, both films which I consider to be bonafide Disney classics. I went with The Rescuers because there are arguments over whether Winnie the Pooh should be considered a feature film or not and I know the Disney animators didn't really regard it that way.
1) The Rescuers
2) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
3) The Aristocats
4) Robin Hood

My ranking's changed a bit here:
1. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
2. Robin Hood
3. The Rescuers
4. The Aristocats ~ Duchess and O'Malley are my favorite part of this. I wish the rest of the film was better.
The Aristocats is the one I watch the least, but I enjoy them all to degrees.

Listening to most often lately:

Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Robin Hood is my favorite. Recicled animation aside the movie is fun, funny and entertaining. The first time Disney made a movie like this and all the animals fit their personalities perefectly. Also Prince John is great.
-The Rescuers will be my second favorite. Aside for the songs (the weakest part) it´s an amazing dark mystery/adventure movie. Much better than the sequel.
-The Aristocats: I used to hate but have come around it and think it´s better (as an entertaining experience) that 101 Dalmatians. However, hated Edgar and the dogs´ scenes didn´t add anything.
-The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Forgettable. The only part I remember is the first with Pooh stuck on Rabbit´s home.

1- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
2- The Rescuers
3- Robin Hood
4- The Aristocats
I quite like the first two, but have little use for the latter two as an adult. I'll concede that Many Adventures may not technically count as a feature, but the stories are adorable and feature some of Disney's best characters, so I'll give it a pass. The latter two could switch at any day, but I went with Aristocats in last place this time since say what you will about Robin Hood, at least it doesn't add racism to its sins. But ask me a week from now, and who knows how I'd rank them.

Re: Favorite Disney Animated Classic from the 70s?
I know some people back in the '60s thread included Mary Poppins in their ranking there, and I had thought about doing it with Bedknobs and Broomsticks here, but decided not to. But it would easily be my number 1 for this decade if it was included! I'd have put MP 3rd in the '60s thread. I've only seen the original Pete's Dragon once and it was a very long time ago. I couldn't say for certain with it. "Candle on the Water" is gorgeous, of course, that's really all I know for sure about the film these days.Sotiris wrote:An easy decade to rank for me too. So glad to see someone put Winnie the Pooh in the top spot. This is such an underrated film especially since the shorts that composed it launched one of the biggest franchises in the world.Avaitor wrote:1- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
