Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
I was watching the making of Frozen documentary "Into The Unknown" on Disney+ and they have a LOT of footage of production crew walking through the hallways of the Disney animation building and as usual my eyes always are drawn to the artwork on the walls (which are often blurred), and in some shots I could see some distinct Raya artwork, like Raya character design drawings and dragon designs. And in one shot even a tentative work in progress poster. Here are some screencaps below!

Finally, we have something new! God bless you robster16 and your eagle eyes!
I really like the poster. It gives off a western/samurai movie vibe. I hope we get something similar for the actual teaser poster.

Do we think Sisu changes color or that there will be multiple dragons?!? Rob, thank you x1000 for posting (and reminding us that the Frozen series is out!)

I think it's just character exploration to decide the color for her.blackcauldron85 wrote:Do we think Sisu changes color or that there will be multiple dragons?!?

Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
Another HUGE nugget of info. In episode 4 when Jennifer Lee and Peter Del Vecchio are walking past a wall you can see a character line-up behind them which they walk past/infront of. I made several screenshots, cut and pasted them together and adjusted the perspective. So here is a look at at least some or most of the main characters in the movie. Another shot is From that same line-up, the female character to the far left, you can see the artwork above the line-up which seems to be a portrait of her face.

One last thing is a drawing on the wall in another shot in the documentary, which I was doubting was actually Raya, but then seeing the tiny white character standing next to the big bulky man in the line-up, I think they are sidekicks that are standing on Raya's shoulders and head. *updated with a better quality look at the same drawing on the wall in another animators cubicle*

Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
Whoa, Robster16
Thank you a million times! It´s just a pity that these images are unclear. But at least it´s some information (though it´s somewhat contradictory how Disney desperately tries to hide everything and having some leaks of Raya be revealed through this documentary).
It looks like Raya is going to be sparse with it´s cast. The guy with the armor does somewhat remind me of Chien-Po.

Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
It seems the documentary series for Frozen 2 was a one-time thing and Disney won't be making one for each new WDAS film.

Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
Well, Frozen is a special film for Disney, so it's going to get treated differently the way The Lion King always was. I really like the poster. Although something about it and the logo combined make me think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for some reason?
I actually would like if Sisu changes colors throughout, since that would be visually interesting. I suppose the older character standing next to Raya is Sisu's human form. Looks funny already.

oooh interesting! great job robster16! Of course I hope you know your pics will be all over the webz by the end of the week.
Im kinda getting Avatar/Naruto vibes from this stuff, which Im sure is intentional, as it would make it more appealing to boys.

Yes, great job, robster16! Thank you so much for posting all those screencaps! It's great to finally see some new stuff about the movie. I'm very curious about the new characters. And I really like that poster too.
The bulky man looks more like a member of Raya's band of misfits to me, but I think it's possible the woman could be the villain. And if she is, I agree that she's likely to be a twist one given that she doesn't look like a typical villain.Sotiris wrote:I really like that short-haired female character. Maybe she's Raya's mom, but I hope she's the villain. It'd be more interesting than having the bulky guy be the villain. It's probably going to be another case of twist villain with the guy being presented as the villain in the beginning but later it's revealed she was the mastermind behind everything.
I guess so. And could the sidekicks in the last picture be monkeys?Disney's Divinity wrote:I suppose the older character standing next to Raya is Sisu's human form. Looks funny already.
Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
These images reminded me of the BH6 character leaks from February 2014.

Knowing Disney, they might have recycled some of those designs because surely one Asian film is just like another Asian film. They already do that with other foreign cultures anyway. If we see a Honey Lemon/Rapunzel/Anna lookalike in this film, we'll know for sure lol.DisneyEra wrote:These images reminded me of the BH6 character leaks from February 2014.

Interestingly, the lead character designer on both films was Shiyoon Kim.DisneyEra wrote:These images reminded me of the BH6 character leaks from February 2014.

Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
True. But people have generally a tendency to label everything that Disney does as recycled, regardless of how much the settings or characters actually resembles each other or not.JeanGreyForever wrote:Knowing Disney, they might have recycled some of those designs because surely one Asian film is just like another Asian film. If any BH6 Easter Eggs are in this film I won't be surprised.Sotiris wrote:Interestingly, the lead character designer on both films was Shiyoon Kim.DisneyEra wrote:These images reminded me of the BH6 character leaks from February 2014.
Re: Raya and the Last Dragon
I don't think that Raya will resemble past Revival Princesses, but we'll have to wait til the final CGI designs are leaked/revealed.JeanGreyForever wrote:Knowing Disney, they might have recycled some of those designs because surely one Asian film is just like another Asian film.
