Disney have done some educational shorts, both during the war and on TV. But what about a series of for instance 30 minute animated documentaries? When they made the True-Life Adventures, it was live action, but they still had to cheat. Before that, they made Rite of Spring in Fantasia.
Today animation has come a long way, and makes it possible to create a scene as visually appealing as possible. We could have episodes dealing with the surface of the moons and planets in the solar system, and what the sky looks from them. Prehistoric life and the evolution of species, or general biology like the ecosystem in a small pond or what lives on and in an old oak tree, just to name a few examples. All done in a way that would entertain both children and adults while simultaneously being scientifically accurate and up to date.
Just a thought.

Oh, I’d be all for this! But it sounds, honestly, too ambitious for modern Disney.

One can only hope, or at least dream. If Discovery Channel can do something similar, just on a smaller scale, Disney could have showed them how to do it properly.
Another suggestion for this fictional series; because the real EPCOT never happened, it would have been possible to make it real in the form of animation to show us what such a city would be like to live in.

I like this idea, but I agree that it seems too ambitious for current Disney. I'm loving your EPCOT idea, Rumpelstiltskin!

I like your idea a lot! It would be cool if Disney pursued something like this.

Thanks. Perhaps someone at Disney reads the comments and says "So they think it's too ambitious for us? Well, we'll show them wrong, won't we Peter?".
