Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
I thought “Disneyland Goes to the World’s Fair” was supposed to be added last week but I have not be able to find it. Anyone notice if it was added?

Turns out hopes were in vain. Anastasia 1997 is on HBO Max, according to an article about how HBO Max was able to gain back the streaming rights to the eight Harry Potter films from NBC Universal.NeoSuperBlissey wrote:Pulling for Anastasia because it was made in the state I live in (Anastasia was made at Fox's short-lived animation studio in Phoenix, Arizona while I live in Yuma).
From Variety.com:
Other movies available in HBO Max — through HBO — include “Crazy Rich Asians,” “A Star is Born” (2018), “Aquaman,” “Joker,” the “Alien” franchise, the “American Pie” series, “Anastasia,” “Babe,” “Die Hard,” “The Flintstones,” “In Bruges,” “The Indian in the Cupboard,” “Jaws,” “Moulin Rouge!” and “Teen Witch.”
Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
Anastasia is available to watch on Disney+ in Canada. So I'm sure once the streaming deal expires on HBO Max, it will hop on over to Disney+.

I noticed Anastasia was on HBO Now a couple nights ago when I was scrolling through. I ended up watching a little bit of The Land Before Time... always thought Little Foot’s design was kinda ugly.
Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
Disney+ has a habit of announcing that they'll add classic episodes of Walt's show, and then not add them. Besides this one, they announced and then pull a couple of classic space-themed episodes, as well as "I Captured the King of the Leprechauns".DisneyVillains wrote:I thought “Disneyland Goes to the World’s Fair” was supposed to be added last week but I have not be able to find it. As of now, only "The Plausible Impossible" and "Disneyland Around the Seasons" are on there.

What's On Disney Plus is reporting that "Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge" has been pulled from Disney+ and will instead air on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel starting June 3rd.

It's definitely strange that Thumbelina is on Disney+ but not Anastasia so I hope this gets remedied soon whenever HBO Max loses the streaming rights. I'll be looking forward to seeing Anastasia under the Disney brand.estefan wrote:Anastasia is available to watch on Disney+ in Canada. Hmm, I wonder why they did that when they already feel they don't have enough Disney+ material.NeoSuperBlissey wrote:What's On Disney Plus is reporting that "Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge" has been pulled from Disney+ and will instead air on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel starting June 3rd.

Maybe they don't feel that?

There was an article posted earlier about how Disney feels they don't have enough material for Disney+ so I was going by that.

Surely the Jedi Temple Challenge YouTube videos will be monetized, so they'll still make $ off of them.

Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
The Fox-owned animated movie I'm surprised hasn't appeared on Disney+ yet is FernGully. I know there are plenty who look back nostalgically at it.JeanGreyForever wrote:It's definitely strange that Thumbelina is on Disney+ but not Anastasia so I hope this gets remedied soon whenever HBO Max loses the streaming rights. Of course, there is also a good chunk of the Blue Sky library not available, but I'm sure those will be added as soon as preexisting streaming deals expire.

I've noticed that, too, and I find it very annoying. I love the space shows and the World's Fair episode. I love Ward Kimball's work on all of them. The opening scene of the World's Fair episode involving the history of fairs is done by Kimball.Avaitor wrote:Disney+ has a habit of announcing that they'll add classic episodes of Walt's show, and then not add them. Incidentally, have you noticed that the footage of Small World in "Disneyland Around the Seasons" is basically the same as from the World's Fair episode? That means there are a lot of inaccuracies, as the actual Disneyland ride has some of the countries, particularly in Europe, in a different order. Plus, the World's Fair version seemed to have ended (well, almost before the all-white finale) with Latin America, which has the rainforest scene there, whereas the actual Disneyland ride still has Oceania (the South Seas and Australia) to go before the all-white finale, and with the rainforest scene placed there. Apparently, it was changed from the Amazon rainforest to a rainforest in New Guinea or something.
Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
From what I understand, there's a pretty big problem with the space-themed episodes- they had heavy involvement from Dr. Wernerh Von Braun, who was a Nazi, which I don't think Disney realized when they announced that the episodes would stream.
That would explain those episode's lack of availability, but the rest shouldn't be a problem, right?

I don't understand it, either. But I think one reason why "The Plausible Impossible" is available is because it shows that deleted soup-eating scene from "Snow White".Avaitor wrote:From what I understand, there's a pretty big problem with the space-themed episodes- they had heavy involvement from Dr. Wernerh Von Braun, who was a Nazi, which I don't think Disney realized when they announced that the episodes would stream.

Last I remember, that was on Netflix so it's likely they don't have the streaming rights for FernGully yet either. I remember it was packaged alongside Anastasia on DVD in the mid-2000s and they both got deluxe DVD editions.estefan wrote:The Fox-owned animated movie I'm surprised hasn't appeared on Disney+ yet is FernGully. Re: Disney Plus (Streaming Service)
The app on my TV seems to be having problems, as there is an error message that pops up when I turn it on and it automatically shuts off. My computer doesn't seem to have that problem, though.
