Vintage Disney View-Master reels

Really wish all of these would be available in book form or something. Or made available again on view-master, considering they are meant to be seen in 3D. It may sound like a cliché, but they really don't make it like that anymore.

Yes, there are plenty of great non-Disney stuff as well, but I assumed I should limit myself to the Disney pictures at first. Can't imagine that there is not a market for this today. Any kid, and many adults, would love watching these 3D-images. And they are so much easier to make than the more time consuming stop motion. These are more like snapchat stories. Just wish someone came up with a way to make them a little longer. Perhaps some sort of kinetoscope, but where you only looked at one frame at the time before moving on to the next one.

I hope so. And if not, it should be even easier to make some new ones today than back then, with 3D-printing and all that. Would have liked to see some of the Silly Symphonies or classic Mickey Mouse and Goofy cartoons done that way, if they doesn't exist already (imagine Clock Cleaners or Mickey's Trailer done this way). As we saw, Donald already exist in this format.
Maybe one could visit ebay to see if there are anyone available (as long as they're not overprized).

There’s a giant ViewMaster in the queue of WDW’s Toy Story Mania. I think it has scenes from Peter Pan?

There's a market for nostalgia these days so it would be nice to see them brought back. But toys in general sell less and less and because of stuff like snapchat, I could see the industry feel that these would be regressive and outdated.

It's probably not gonna be the latest fad, but there should at least be a niche market for it. It almost an artform in itself. In animation you create the illusion of movement. In these images, you try to tell a story through a series of stills, where each image represents a whole scene. Like a picture book for children, but more complex and much more effort (not to mention that it's in 3D).

Never seen a cake like that. Both reprints of the actual cartoon or feature, and pictures of 3D models, have their own qualities.

Sadly I have never been in a Disney park yet.

Also, now when VR-glasses are getting more popular, one could invent a cheaper version with limited computer powers, where stories could be told in a series of 3D-stills, but more than just seven images (and hopeful real photos and not just CGI).

If I ever visit France, Tokyo, Anaheim or Florida, I will use the opportunity.

Oh, thanks for reminding me about these. When I was a kid I had these for The Little Mermaid, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Snow White, Cinderella, Toy Story and Pocahontas. Obviously, Snow White was my favorite, and I remember they used her design from the 90s, with a more mature looking appearance. And I loved the illustrations. I wasn't even aware they brought New Coke back to market Stranger Things. If that happened then I agree that anything is possible. Was New Coke a success this time around?

VR has been getting more and more integrated into regular technology these days and Walt Disney was always really good about keeping up with the latest tech so it would be nice for Disney to pioneer something like this.

I hope you get an opportunity then! I've only been to the two American parks but I've always wanted to visit the Tokyo one which is considered the best and the Paris one as well since that has some exclusive stuff. It's a shame the parks are getting so expensive year by year though.

I don't think I have seen that one yet, or any of the other mentioned, if they are of newer date.

(And since we're talking about older Disney objects; I have some old stickers about their most famous classics somewhere. That's another thing I would appreciate; reprints of older artwork like that.)

Disneyland is definitely my personal favorite and I think the best park, although my opinion on that might change if I visited the Tokyo one. Magic Kingdom, the Disney World/Florida equivalent of Disneyland, is way bigger but I can easily do that in a whole day whereas one day doesn't feel enough for Disneyland. Disneyland is also gonna be far preferable for classic Disney fans since Magic Kingdom relies on newer properties.

Yeah, the original design is the best, but this one is beautiful as well. In fact, when I was growing up, this design of her was featured on all merchandise, and they used it on the poster for the 1993 re-release.
