You were really good at being specific to which castle is which. I loved all your reasons for why you picked what you picked. Jasmine really does have the best and most incredible bedroom, though I like the Cinderella palace garden more, I believe we see more of it? Your saying that Atlantica is all golden and gleaming is a good reason for it to be a great castle.
What is the Forbidden City anyway? Sounds cool! Why is it forbidden?
Oops, I read your post and then there were so many afterwards that I forgot to respond to you! So sorry
I'm terrible at rankings anyway and I have too many favorites when it comes to the castles so I thought less was more lol.
Thanks for the compliment. My thing about the Cinderella palace garden is that I don't feel like we see enough of it. Yes, it's featured in a montage but that means we just get some quick, sweeping shots and it's all cloaked in the night and very simplistic to suit the love song so I don't feel like we get time to really experience the garden besides it being used as a romantic background element. In Aladdin, we see more of the garden since Aladdin is in the greenery underneath Jasmine's balcony before A Whole New World and then we see a bit of the menagerie as well with the flamingos later on.
I don't know much about the Forbidden City but it's this big palace in China which looks almost identical (or similar enough) to the palace in Mulan. It's not supposed to be the same thing but basically everything Chinese in Mulan is a really stereotypical image of what Americans perceive Chinese culture as, hence the palace design. I think from what I've read from historians and actual Chinese people, they said the Forbidden City wouldn't match the timeline of the film at all but that's true for pretty much almost every element in the film lol. Disney fans say this film is the most notorious to track down in a set time period typically.

I think Robin Hood's is rather boring.
The Black Cauldron castle is awesome!
Maleficent's castle is really, really awesome!
The Emporer's New Groove's is a very interesting and cool design but obviously not my cup of tea. I love European castles and rarely much differing from that.
I LOVE Enchanted's castle, omg, so beautiful. That art nouveau style is so gorgeous.
The Sword in the Stone castle never left an impression on me. The exterior is certainly unique and I guess the interior as well with Merlin's magic spells but I would never have an interest to visit it.
Robin Hood at least has the castle set for a series of pivotal scenes but I agree that it's a bit boring and too generic for my taste. Both this castle and The Sword in the Stone one can never compare to the Sleeping Beauty one.
I love The Black Cauldron castle which is super creepy and distinctive. I would say I'd want to explore it but only when it was vacant and didn't feature any of the Horned King's men.
I'm not really into The Emperor's New Groove palace as well. Mainly because it's too cartoony and anachronistic inside for my taste and doesn't feel like a proper Inca palace. Although that's true for the film as a whole.
I completely forgot about Queen Narissa's castle! That's one of my favorites and the inside gardens are so gorgeous. I take back what I say about Jasmine having the best garden, the garden in this one looked like a slice of heaven with that fountain and the high ceiling that looked like it reached the heavens.
