My comment wasn't just directed at you. Several members have been piling on DisneyEra in this thread for a while now and I needed to remind people that's not OK.

By the way, it's good that you ask people here to be respectful, I appreciate it, but maybe you could do it all the time? Like when someone makes a demeaning and disrespectful comment towards another user about how much their opinions are invalid. Even if you personally agree with the attacker's opinions and disagree with the one that the hurtful comment was aimed at.

Is there something specific you're referring to? If you're talking about the incident involving estefan in the Hercules live-action thread, I decided not to interfere because things did not escalate and estefan himself said he wasn't offended by Disney Divinity's remarks. If you're referring to something else, I probably just didn't see it. I can't catch every little thing. If you're experiencing an issue with an another user or have noticed someone else being attacked, please don't hesitate to report the offending post or PM me about it.

I've made a similar comment to estefan in the past. It's not an attack to say I've wondered if he's a bot at times. You act like you're revealing some deep, dark secret of mine when I posted it publically. But it's funny that this topic where I wasn't speaking to you at all suddenly became about me...? Well, that escalated quickly ~sigh~ Farerb, Disney's Divinity's comment didn't warrant an attack from you. Where did that come from? You overreacted and your comment was out of line. If you two have a history, please don't take it out in public. The ignore function exists for a reason. Disney's Divinity, you don't need to respond if someone attacks you. It derails the thread and creates more drama. Reporting it and letting the mods handle it is the way to go. Also, farerb about that post you were referring to, as I said earlier I decided not to intervene because the argument resolved itself in a civilized way and estefan said he wasn't offended by it. Had he asked to, I would have removed it.

Now, let's get back on topic, please.

I like how they mentioned the "inspiration from Southeast Asia;" I feel like some people will complain that they're not using a real country in the film, but if the people working on it are okay with it (or did they have to say what they said and they wish a real country was used?)...

I feel like I have to mentally prepare for backlash to Disney films... Do you think there'd be, for this film or hypothetically, more risk of complaint by using a real country or making their own world inspired by a region?

I'm so much looking forward to this film; I'm just worried about controversy!

Shannon Mills was brought in by Berenice Robinson, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ VP of Post Production. Mills, who in the early years of his career had apprenticed with Gary Rydstrom on the film Hercules, is currently working as supervising sound editor on the upcoming Disney Animation feature, Raya and the Last Dragon.

The way I see it, people like to be negative for negativity's sake, so I think there will be some backlash no matter what they do. I think it's important to consider their intentions though, the filmmakers that is, not the Disney corporation.
But I get your feeling. We haven't seen anything from this film and I can already see what kind of reaction it's going to get from people online.
