So, talking about Aladdin's "One Jump Ahead" scene-- That makes so much sense that it was shot at 36, 24, and 18 frames per second. Honestly, my husband and I didn't want to watch past that scene, so we didn't, but this was so jarring to us and didn't help us like the film, so at least there's an explanation for that part...

That article is definitely being overly kind with its assessment. I don't think Disney has released that many experimental films at all.... The reason is easy $$$, plain and simple.

^ Yeah, when I read that part of the article, I was thinking I wish we had more "smaller" films, since it insinuated that Disney's fine making them as long as the remakes keep rolling out. I still haven't seen A Wrinkle in Time, but I love The BFG and The Nutcracker...not to mention non-remakes Christopher Robin + MPR. And I'm looking forward to Artemis Fowl. But these movies are few compared to the remakes...

The producer of live-action Mulan, Jason Reed, who's also a former Disney Studios EVP who specialized in franchise management and cross platform development, talks about the future of Disney remakes.
Q: When it comes to Disney’s live action reboots of its animated vault, do you think the future supply is rather limited in quantity? Obviously, one day we’ll see a live-action take on Moana or a Frozen.

Jason Reed: As you just said, there are a lot more titles that have big fanbases that certainly audiences would love to see another version of or continue to live in the world created by those movies. There is not an endless supply of them. However, I think that there is an endless supply of stories that can be told in the Disney style and at the scope and scale of how Disney tells those stories, and it might not be a Frozen movie, but it might be a different princess story that’s original. What I think is really fun about the future of Disney going forward is now that they have multiple business models they can embrace, be it Disney+, or theatrical, or a hybrid of the two I think it gives them a lot more creative freedom. I think it’s going to be great for audiences because they’re going to get a much broader, wider array of stories told in that tradition than they would’ve if they were limited to simply theatrical.

A hybrid of Disney+ and theatrical: did he specifically intend to mention those two, a la Hamilton (and the rumored Aladdin or even the new version of theatrical B&tB they're working on)...or did he just use D+ and theatrical as examples of branches of Disney, and other kinds of hybrids may come into existence?
