After the closure of Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland, Disney announced they're closing Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris and Disney Cruise Line through March during the coronavirus pandemic, starting March 15.
Cast members will still be paid for any shifts they were scheduled.

Must be a tough month for Disney between loosing their parks income, their Broadway income and then their blockbusters income. Bob Iger jumped out at the really right time.

I'm sure that's why Bob Iger did jump out.

I'm so happy that they're paying the cast members. The company surely is losing a lot of money now, but the fact that the cast members can still pay their bills is such a relief.

It's tough for every business, small and big and it's going to be tough afterwards because we're about to enter a worldwide economic recession. Disney is the last to have my worries.

Same, I have a friend who works at one of the parks and I know of so many from articles who are barely making ends meet with their salary from working there. They really need this and I'm glad they made the unilateral decision to keep paying everyone. I hope they keep that up if the parks are still closed beyond March. Heaven knows Disney can afford to do so.blackcauldron85 wrote:I'm so happy that they're paying the cast members. Very cynical, but this is definitely the reason he left early. I don't know why he would be so overly concerned with his record being besmirched unless he has presidential aspirations. I mean, why care otherwise?rodrigo_ca wrote:Must be a tough month for Disney between loosing their parks income, their Broadway income and then their blockbusters income. It's good that the performers are getting pay
Sad choice to be making but it's for the best
