This is a great thread comparing all the various Little Mermaid restorations released so far. I think the Diamond Edition is still my favorite, especially in comparison to the Signature Edition.

Anybody have any thoughts on the future of Disney films on home media once Disney+ launches?

My initial thought was that Disney would keep every release in print from here on out, since nothing has gone OOP in quite some time. This thought process has kept me from buying any major Disney release since TLM back in February.

I recently saw it suggested on another forum that Disney might just run through their existing stock and let things quietly go out of print. Although this theory does have its flaws, it made me consider that as an option. I'm just so torn because if this were to happen, I have quite a few releases to catch up on.

I was more expecting the 6 pre-Disney Star Wars movies to get released sometime between this fall and next spring.. What is the point of releasing them when no new Star Wars film is coming out in theaters?

I was hoping the Star Wars Saga 4K Collection would be released in the spring instead of late 2020 but oh well. They're probably being saved for later because of the holiday season and sales will be up then. Like how the MCU collection is coming out this winter I think. Especially since all the previously released Star Wars films (including the original six) were just released again on Blu-Ray for the umpteenth time. So releasing those films again so soon, even on 4K, probably wouldn't be a very good business decision.

Those covers are not bad, they look a bit like book illustrations.

They better not neglect the other 90s films particularly Pocahontas, Hunchback, and Tarzan.

Wow, that's good news. I was really expecting them to do so.
Actually the same thing will probably happen to every Disney Classics that Disney intends to remake or reboot: that is to say there is hope for HoND, Hercules, The Black Cauldron, TSitS, Lilo & Stitch, Enchanted..

I also think they are about to release the 4 first PotC movies this summer since 'Jungle Cruise', another based on a Disneyland attraction movie, will be released in July, and those 4 movies are already available in 4K on Disney+..

Do you think it's a fanmade cover?

Waiting to hear if the restoration is the old one or a new one. On Blu-ray.com I haven't heard anything substantial yet.
