I saw YMO on Netflix the other day (not as good as 2003's CBYD) and yeah, this is pretty much the plot. I just hope they cast a disabled kid in the movie. And not just a kid with a wheelchair, like a different disability like Down syndrome.

Actually, YM&O was about two people with a ton of their own kids each set of kids from the two adults’ own previous marriages and the kids from both sides of the family working together to get them to not get married(?).
