It seems the head of Swan Princess Partners LLC wants to make a live-action adaptation but has trouble convincing Sony Pictures to finance its production.

This support and enthusiasm from the Swan Princess fans is the most important stepping stone to achieving a high definition version of the animated film and someday, a live action Swan Princess film!

One of those major ambitions that we have is to be able to produce Swan Princess live-action movie which has been suggested by many, many of our fans around the world. As we go forward we need those fans to continue to talk about that. And the primary reason: it will take a huge amount of commitment to do that.
Q: I've heard some rumor somewhere that there's supposedly a live-action Swan Princess film in the works. Is that true?
Seldon O. Young: Well, actually that is not true...yet. And the reason why I say 'yet' is because I have to rally all my fans for the Swan Princess to go on Facebook and Instagram, and whatever social media, and sign up for the newsletter so that we can gather everybody together to push our distributor off the fence to do Swan Princess live-action 'cause that's my ambition.
Q: Has there been any progress on making a live-action Swan Princess movie?
A: There has been little progress in making a Swan Princess live action film as we have yet to find a studio to provide the financial backing. The next steps in this process is to have a script written and then take that to the studios as proof of concept. While we are still hopeful that a live-action film will one day come to fruition, it will be a while until that is possible.
Q: May you please add Whizzer in the live-action remake of The Swan Princess?
A: Great question! We are still searching for funding opportunities for a live action Swan Princess film. As such, the plot and script have not yet been written. It will be interesting to see if Whizzer makes an appearance as we get further along in planning stages.
If what they mean is they want to make something in the same vein as Disney’s live-action remakes of DACs, then I’m all for it. I grew up with this as much as TLM, Mulan, TLK, B&tB, etc.
Listening to most often lately:
Christina Aguilera ~ "Cruz"
Sombr ~ "homewrecker"
Megan Moroney ~ "Beautiful Things"
I actually kept seeing and hearing reports of this on Instagram but I always thought it was a fanmade project so I didn't give it much thought. A live-action film would certainly be better than anymore ridiculous CGI films that have cheapened the franchise.
