You can also see them in order of release, type, class and brand by clicking on "Year released", "type", etc. There are very few Fox titles, I wonder why they didn't add more content from the studio.
Again, maybe they will add more as time goes on.
Getting back to the slim number of shorts, I do agree that they should have added more in. If nothing else, they could have included the shorts featured on "Treasures From the Disney Vault", the quarterly night event they showed on TCM. In the course of its run, they have shown the following shorts:
-On Ice (1935)
-Santa's Workshop (1932)
-Chip an' Dale (1947)
-Babes In the Woods (1932)
-Hawaiian Holiday (1937)
-Beach Picnic (1939)
-The Simple Things (1953)
-The Three Little Pigs (1933)
-The Big Bad Wolf (1934)
-Three Little Wolves (1936)
-The Old Mill (1937)
-Lonesome Ghosts (1937)
-The Grasshopper and the Ants (1934)
-Rescue Dog (1947)
-Corn Chips (1951)
-The Whalers (1938)
-Sea Scouts (1939)
-Merbabies (1938)
-The Band Concert (1935)
-Thru the Mirror (1936)
-Clock Cleaners (1937)
-Flowers and Trees (1932)
-Old King Cole (1933)
-The Pied Piper (1933)
-Boat Builders (1938)
-Tugboat Mickey (1940)
-The Tortoise and the Hare (1935)
-The Ugly Duckling (1939)
-Good Scouts (1938)
-Winter Storage (1949)
-All In a Nutshell (1949)
-Out of Scale (1951)
-Mickey's Polo Team (1936)
-The Brave Little Tailor (1938)
-The Golden Touch (1935)
-Mr. Duck Steps Out (1940)
-Society Dog Show (1939)
-Pluto's Purchase (1948)
-Moose Hunters (1937)
-Magician Mickey (1937)
-The Little Whirlwind (1941)
-Pluto's Sweater (1949)
-Double Dribble (1946)
-The Olympic Champ (1942)
-How To Play Football (1944)
-Elmer Elephant (1936)
-The Country Cousin (1936)
-Bone Bandit (1948)
-The Robber Kitten (1935)
-Donald's Tire Trouble (1943)
-The Art of Skiing (1941)
-The Hockey Champ (1939)
Of those listed, only "The Three Little Pigs", "Lonesome Ghosts", "The Band Concert", "Flowers and Trees" and "The Little Whirlwind" will be available on Disney Plus.
Or they could have done the collection of shorts featured on one of the earliest releases of Disney cartoons known as the Mickey and Donald Cartoon Collections. It was a three-volume set released in 1981, each volume containing six shorts (for a total of 18).
Volume One:
-Thru the Mirror (1936)
-The Sleepwalker (1942)
-Donald's Golf Game (1938)
-The Whalers (1938)
-Pluto and the Gopher (1950)
-Dragon Around (1954)
Volume Two:
-Society Dog Show (1939)
-Pluto's Sweater (1949)
-Donald Applecore (1952)
-The Little Whirlwind (1941)
-Pluto's Blue Note (1947)
-Donald's Diary (1954)
Volume Three:
-Boat Builders (1938)
-Pluto's Quin-Puplets (1937)
-Chef Donald (1941)
-Moose Hunters (1937)
-Lend a Paw (1941)
-Working For Peanuts (1953)
Of the 18 shorts listed, only "The Little Whirlwind", "Chef Donald" and "Lend a Paw" are on Disney Plus.
So yeah, if they went with either the content from "Treasures From the Disney Vault" or the Mickey and Donald Cartoon Collections VHS set, they would have a bit more to work with. No, it wouldn't be the ENTIRE hundreds of cartoons put out, but it's nowhere near as slim as it is now. Either way, they would have "Thru the Mirror", "The Whalers", "Society Dog Show", "Pluto's Sweater", "Boat Builders" and "Moose Hunters". Interestingly, "The Little Whirlwind", on both lists, is something that Disney Plus will have.
