I love the Gold Collection cover for Melody Time. It's almost like a counterpart to Mickey on the Fantasia covers.

I like the Gold Edition cover for Melody Time as well. Also like Make Mine Music's cover although it's shocking to think that was its only home video release.

Yes, these two classics have had very few home video releases! I, on the contrary, prefer the Masterpiece VHS for Melody Time. I like that it features more characters from the film. The other two covers aren't too representative of their respective movies in my opinion. It seems they were trying to sell the films as Fantasia-like classics, which they are to a degree, but as I said, I would've liked that they had featured more characters from the movies. They could've added Peter from the Peter and the Wolf segment or Johnny Fedora and Alice Blue Bonnet, for example, to the cover of Make Mine Music.

Two old Swedish Melody Time VHS releases. Released somewhere between 1981-87. The first VHS they tried to make the letters like music notes for the Swedish title "Spela för mig" ("Play for me" in English). Nice concept, but the title is hard to read because of it.

Old Swedish VHS releases of Pinocchio and Dumbo. These two are collector's items in Sweden because they have the older dubs.
Pinocchio 1985 VHS, includes the original 1940 Swedish dub. Pinocchio was redubbed in 1995.

Dumbo 1985 VHS, includes the 1972 Swedish redub. The original Swedish dub from 1946 has never been released on Home video. Dumbo was later redubbed in 1996.

That's so weird, I love the Gold Collection cover for Melody Time the most, too! I think it's ths simplicity with the lighting, shading, and, I dunno and image of Donald waving a button on a scroll of music looks great. And Disney dust from his baton! The Make Mine Music cover looks ok.

I love that Swedish Pinocchio cover DisneyBluLife! But the Dumbo one...looks kinda bad. And I don't remember fireworks in the movie.

Yeah, some Fantasia covers have done a good job of representing most of the segments, even if the majority of the covers just feature Mickey. I would have liked to have seen something similarly for Make Mine Music, especially if characters from Peter and the Wolf were on the cover.

I really like the music notes for the title. The cover from the second link is super bland though and wouldn't attract my attention at all. Then again, I was never a fan of that segment in the first place.

Oh boy... suddenly its all the package films! and I didnt even get around to commenting on SA/TTC yet!

Im pretty shocked how few releases some of these films have had.

For Melody Time, I like the vhs layout better; I feel it represents the film better. But the execution is better on the gold collection. The shading for the vhs looks like merchandise from the 80s more than an official vhs cover.

Make Mine Music is pretty bland, but its the only one, so so be it. Doesnt reflect the movie at all.

For Fun & fancy free... well... I think the gold collection wins by a mile!! Best layout and execution. The anniversary one looks like 80s merch (again) and has no background (which works for Donald on the MT cover cause of the cast shadow and the scroll he is standing on... more abstract). The original vhs looks like a poorly chosen screencap.

Not much to choose from w Ichabod... the dvd (and blu ray) perfectly capture the tone and look of the movie. Even if its unfair Mr.Toad is excluded.

I like the Gold Edition DVD covers for both films and also the Masterpiece VHS cover for Fun and Fancy Free. It's a pity Mr. Toad has been neglected from most home video covers though.

I think the Gold Collection covers for both Fun and Fancy Free and Ichabod and Mr. Toad are best. I don't like the limited edition Halloween cover, sorry Marce82.

The Masterpiece is my favorite for Fun and Fancy Free. I don't like any of the Ichabod and Mr. Toad covers, but at least the Masterpiece isn't hideous like that other one. Woof!

TBH I never grew up with these films. I only had Peter and the Wolf from this VHS but that's it... So I don't really have an opinion on their covers... I guess the Gold Collection covers are nice.

Yes, regarding Bongo, it is not the prettiest cover. But I wanted to show it, because it is an official Disney VHS release from Sweden.
But more front covers with Bongo would be nice. This "Fun and fancy free' VHS release is the only one I have found with Bongo on it instead of Mickey.

I'm glad you posted it as well as the other Swedish covers so far. It's interesting how similar but also how different those foreign covers can be from the US ones.

Yeah, I'd like to see more Bongo too because I like the character even if I'm not a big fan of the actual segment. However, I don't blame Disney for neglecting an obscure character like that over their three most popular ones.

I actually like most of The Three Caballeros and Saludos Amigos covers. The vintage “Caballeros” covers are the best.

Not much to discuss with Melody Time or Make Mine Music. For receiving such sparse releases, at least they weren’t stuck with eyesore covers.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad and Fun and Fancy Free didn’t receive decent covers until the Gold Collection. I also own the copy of “Ichabod” with the special edition Headless Horseman slipcover. It was a DMR redemption.
