Power Pack

Post by Rumpelstiltskin »

Is Disney working on a Power Pack movie? An article from a few months back:

http://thathashtagshow.com/2017/09/excl ... ower-pack/
According to a source, Marvel Studios has revisited bringing Power Pack to the screen as a feature film within the last year. To be clear, we’re not telling you to expect Power Pack on August 7, 2020 or that it has even been given the green light, but that the studio HAS reinvested some effort in the developing the property. Part of those efforts has been giving Jonathan Schwartz executive oversight on the film and that’s a move that we can’t help but be a little excited about.

We’re told the studio is looking to develop the film as a “Spy Kids-like story” that follows the Power family.
Of course, this was before Disney decided to buy Fox. But it still sounds interesting if done right. And apparently Fox had similar plans:

When it comes to the Fantastic Four, Fox is really hoping the third time is the charm. Over the years, the studio has rolled out two lackluster attempts to turn Marvel’s first superhero family into box office royalty, and Fox may be getting ready to give the team another go.

Recently, reports surfaced about Fox and its plans to develop a family-centric Fantastic Four reboot. The rumor purports that the studio wants to make a film starring Franklin and Valeria Richards, the children of Reed Richards and Sue Storm. And, now, it looks like The Hollywood Reporter is adding coal to the reboot’s fire.

As an FF and X-Factor/Original X-Men fan, I've always had a soft-spot for Power Pack so I'd be very happy for this. Honestly, it could make a great animated film or TV show as well.

An animated feature or series could probably work. Like Big Hero 6, but more loyal to the original material this time. If an animated series; as long as it isn't done in the (in my opinion) awful anime style seen with ThunderCats or Teen Titans.

This probably would work better in a serial format. Especially on Disney+ since it'll cater to kids.
