As far as the ones I know anything to have an opinion on, I really wish Dragons 2 was coming out next year and KFP3 is way too far away. :( I kind of feel bad for having so much desire to see sequels, but KFP2 was very good, imo, and Dragons has a lot of potential depending on where they go with it. I've heard that they've thought about taking the KFP series up to 6 in the end, and I can't say I'd mind considering how much I (strangely) enjoyed the first two.

I wonder what Trolls and Turbo are about (besides the obvious)?

I can't wait for Me and My Shadow! If it performs well, it may encourage Disney management to greenlight a feature using the Paperman technique sooner.

The Trolls movie is based on the property 'Good Luck Trolls'.
Trolls (working title), inspired by the mythology behind the wildly popular Troll dolls, will be released on June 5, 2015. It is directed by Anand Tucker (Leap Year) and produced by Gina Shay (Shrek Forever After). Aron Warner (Shrek films) is serving as executive producer, alongside Andrew Adamson (Shrek series, The Chronicles of Narnia series) and Dannie Festa. The screenplay is being written by Wallace Wollodarsky and Maya Forbes (Monsters vs. Aliens). The film stars Jason Schwartzman and Chole Moretz.
Interestingly, DWA has another 'Troll' project, titled Trollhunters which is one of Guillermo del Toro's pet projects. Del Toro was to develop this at Disney under the label 'Disney Double Dare You'. When the deal with Disney fell apart and the label got defunct he went to DWA and took his movie projects with him.

Regarding Turbo, there's already plenty of info out there. There's even a thread here on UD.

only interested in Kung Fu Panda & Mr Peabody&Sherman (which I hope they can do justice to....and treat the characters respectfully...because that was one of my favorite segments on Rocky and Bullwinkle)
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

@Sotiris: I remember reading about both these before, now, thanks. :) I tend to forget about these in-production movies unless I'm very interested.

I'm worried about Lidsville. It's not included in their schedule. I hope it hasn't been shelved. I really want to listen to the songs Menken wrote for the movie.

They need to stop after Kung Fu Panda 3. There's already a tv show. Idk how much more they can milk this series.

*And i heard Train Your Dragon is coming out with a tv series too.

Already on the air. I sampled a bit and while the plot of that episode was paint-by-numbers(a new breed of small dragon is discovered, hiccup takes it in and mistakes all of toothless' warnings for jealousy), but the animation, while a little stiff, was technically more impressive than most CGI kids shows. Not the same quality overall as star wars though.

On another topic, I didnt expect the Croods until at least 2014, considering there hasnt even been a teaser yet.

Actually, you missed three earlier episodes that were shown as previews before the actual premier.

The premise behind the whole series is that Hiccup and the viking village learn to adapt to the new dragon filled life, and each lesson is applied at the end of the story. So it is a bit of a fantastical slice of life series that takes place just after the end of the first movie.

In the first episode, the dragons and vikings have quite yet to adapt to each other, so the dragons sometimes end up eating the crops and ruining some stuff for the vikings. One new character, a miser of an old man, protests, saying that the dragons should leave forever. So Hiccup and friends try to see how they can mend the relationship even further, so they figure out that they can use dragons to their advantage in their daily life, and in the end, they established a dragon training academy.

In the second episode, Gobber is left without any job since his old job was to provide weaponry for the vikings in order to fight dragons. He tries a variety of jobs until he learns that he can use his old weapons to aid in the training and care of the dragons.

Finally, in the third episode, a big snow storm in coming, and Hiccup learns that the dragons have a natural instinct of protection, so Hiccup and Astrid's dragons are able to save them from the snowstorm. In the side story, the animals are way too frightened by the presence of dragons, so the vikings must figure out how to get the two species to get along before the snow storm.

The episode you mentioned is the fourth one and it is actually the first episode to introduce a new species of dragons. The series may end up following the plot premise you mentioned, but I think there will be more variety in the stories they tell.

I was personally impressed with the series. I liked that they were able to get a great chunk of the voice cast back (sans Gerard Buttler and Scott Ferguson for obvious reasons). I also love that the series complements the movie well enough, with the stories being told in the same tone as the movie. It's humorous without being too over the top (something I think plagues Legends of Awesomeness, even though I love that series to death), and it keeps its focus on the dragons.

I think Riders of Berk is a solid TV adaptation, better than expected, and it ALMOST makes me forgive Cartoon Network for making the Annoying Orange into a TV show...ALMOST

There seriously needs to be a break from the penguins in the cinema world (though Oswald/Penguin from the Batman franchise would object). We've had March of the Penguins in 2005, the original Madagascar film in 2005 followed by two sequels, Happy Feet in 2006 followed by a sequel, Surf's Up in 2007, and Mr. Popper's Penguin in 2011. Personally, I think the best movie with penguins is Batman Returns that came out when ducks seemed to be the "in" bird and Oswald/Penguin even rode a duck mobile in that film.

I really like the story for Sherman and Mr Peabody. I'm surprised they haven't changed Turbo's name. I can't stop thinking of Wreck-It Ralph whenever I see it.

I'm happy to see as many original projects as is up on that list. Great news! Hope most of them are worth paying $14 for.

*Bumpity-bump-bump*

I'm reviving this thread because I just watched Sinbad & Spirit for the first time. I absolutely, positively loved them!!! I'm kinda sad that it took all these years to see them. (Back when they came out, a)I couldn't drive, so I missed out on a lot of movies I would have seen, but b) Disney wasn't doing well, so I wasn't seeing too much of the competition out of solidarity for my favorite company...)

The animation in both was top-notch, and I liked the stories and the characters. I cried at the end of Spirit. And I loved the animation of Eris. I watched a short making-of documentary afterwards about Sinbad, and the effects team was largely responsible for Eris, since she changes forms and such.

I haven't seen The Prince of Egypt since it came out (my uncle took me to see that), and my husband and I watched The Road to El Dorado a few years ago on a cell phone on our way home from WDW, so I need to rewatch those (I don't own TPoE, but I can probably buy it for cheap).

There still are a bunch of DreamWorks films I haven't seen (my uncle has been raving about Over the Hedge since it came out, and it actually came with Bee Movie {which I really like...) on DVD, so I have it but haven't watched it yet.. )... With the exception of Chicken Run {which I've loved since it came out}, I feel like none of the CGI DreamWorks films will be as good as their traditional ones (I know those had significant CGI usage).

What brought this on is I bought for cheap a used copy of the book "The Men Who Would Be King." I'm only skimming over/skipping over some of the live-action/video game/music label stuff, but I'm reading all the animation stuff, & it's an interesting read...
