I'm oddly excited for this
Re: Frozen 2
Thanks for the reply! I think you're right about the purpose of the lullaby and that it doesn't need to be a big musical number. It's interesting that it didn't have any instrumental accompaniment.Clindor wrote:Well, the lullaby sung by queen is just your average lalluby. I don’t think there is too much to say about it.. There is no instrumental accompaniment (or at least not in the two scenes they showed and where it appears). I heard better lallubies in other movies yet there is absolutely nothing wrong with this one. But regarding this movie it doesn’t seem that the point is to make a big musical number out of this one (or maybe in a reprise?): it seems more like a key for the story, a riddle about the family’s magical powers claiming near the end that the answers are in the river...
Regarding Some things never change, I’m a bit shameful to admit it.. but at first I didn’t get it was going to be a song for the movie(mostly because they didn’t introduced it as such).. I thought it was something written for the D23 Expo as a homage to the success of this franchise..
(but yes on the other hand, it’s never a good sign when you’re able to mistake a movie song for something they would have taken a week to write..) BUT in the case of this one, the cast performed it on stage.. No footage was showed. Once again in the context of the story it will probably look better on film.
All I can add is that Jonathan Groff was giving 200% of himself on stage and it was a delight! ^^
As for the other song, it's no wonder you didn't realize it was a song from the movie at first if it wasn't introduced as such. And, yes, it's probably not a good sign you can mistake it for a song made just for the event; but as you say, maybe in the context of the story it'll get better. I, for example, wasn't too impressed with "Let It Go" the first time I heard it. Now it's not one of my favorites from Disney, but I think it's a really good song that accompanies a great scene in the movie.

Thank you for posting all the book covers, D82! I don't usually like 2D artwork of 3D characters in merchandise, but some of these actually don't look too bad.

What if the queen faked her own death to avoid having to deal with Elsa's powers. Maybe the stress and anxiety become too much for her.

Lol, and people give Elsa hell for running away from her responsibilities. I think it would be unforgivable if the Queen did that and parents would be mighty displeased.DisneyFan97 wrote:What if the queen faked her own death to avoid having to deal with Elsa's powers. Re: Frozen 2
I thought it could be an interesting allegory for parents who abandon kids with special needs in real life. If the Queen just anadon Elsa and tried to live a free life. Just pronted to be dead so she wouldn't have to deal with the problem. Could be an intereting way of making a parallel with real world issues. Much art refects really issus in soiceity even it's a fantiscal story.
Woukd be an intersting angel to take it.
Elsa as a disability or mental illness metaphor coukd work very weel.
Ableism does very much exist as problem in culture.

Re: Frozen 2
I really loved the song "Into the Unknown", it's still stuck in my head.
It kind of feels like "Let It Go" part 2, but I really love Idina's vocals on that.
The other two songs were OK too. Can't wait to watch the full movie!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hans will be in Frozen 2:
Though it's unclear how the conniving, power-hungry Prince Hans plays into the plot of Frozen 2, Santino Fontana is set to voice the villain nonetheless.

Re: Frozen 2
I hope it's a very minimal, background appearance. Or maybe he's just a phantom seen by Elsa or Anna throughout their "trials" or whatever.
Btw, I'm glad that the parents are dead dead dead.

I hope this is true and I hope they've been hiding his real role and that he'll actually have a prominent position in the new movie.D82 wrote:According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hans will be in Frozen 2:

Re: Frozen 2
yeah I noticed that yesterday. I dont know, I still feel that they just added it b/c he keeps appearing in other click bait sites cast lists as well as Wiki and IMDb(which anyone can edit but whatever) and they just wanted to cover their bases.
Even if he is in the film, it probably will be a very small cameo, b/c I can tell you, that tons and I mean TONS of merch have leaked onto Discord and Tumblr for weeks now and there's not been a single sign of him anywhere. It just feels very unlikely he'll have much presence in the film, if at all.

Re: Frozen 2
To be fair though, he's not a character who got a lot of merchandise in the first film either. He appeared on a lot of covers and stuff because at that point, nobody knew he was the villain so it would look weird if he was not pictured with the rest of the main cast. But for this film, they may be wanting to keep his presence a secret. That's just wishful thinking of course and maybe he'll have a few seconds cameo like in Frozen Fever.unprincess wrote: Even if he is in the film, it probably will be a very small cameo, b/c I can tell you, that tons and I mean TONS of merch have leaked onto Discord and Tumblr for weeks now and there's not been a single sign of him anywhere. It just feels very unlikely he'll have much presence in the film, if at all.

Re: Frozen 2
I forgot to say how much I’m looking forward to the music. “Into the Unknown”’s lyrics are intriguing. I imagine this must be daunting for the Lopezes. Imagine if Alan Menken had to write a follow-up soundtrack to Beauty and the Beast back in the day. People were bad enough with each successive film being deemed inadequate compared to the whatever the previous Disney film was back in the ‘90s. They’ll probably be even worse with a theatrical sequel like this. I expect to read “Not as good as ‘Let It Go’” x 10 billion.

Will more new actors be added to the cast or are Evan and Sterling the only two new voice actors in this movie ?
Seems like a pretty small cast.
