A disney educational set has not been planned but hopefully the Donald's and Goofy's will turn up on the LATER SHORTS set in 2004. (I hope, I hope, I hope...)

Hi Prince Phillip, I've just ordered Walt Disney Treasure Goofy from Dvdboxoffice.com, they say its in Moratorium but they had it stocked anyway. I placed the order 13th July and they shipped it yesterday (16th), CAD 36.95 is ok for me...

Thanks... congratulate for being a Supah-Genius :D

Its about USD 27 for WDT Goofy, including shipping... (prices on dvds at dvdboxoffice inludes shipping). Its a good price from me... living in Sweden... overseas-shipping can be really expensive... I hope youll find it ok....

I just got back from the mall and found copies of Davy Crockett, Mickey Mouse in Black and White, AND Behind the Scenes at Disney Studios, too bad those are 3 out of the 4 I own.

Last night I ordered Davy Crockett and Disneyland USA from amazon.com brand new, from the site, not a dealer
After many short films, she's finally getting her own....

With the exception of Mickey Mouse in Living Color, its not that hard, on amazon.com, you can find most of them under $40 new, from a dealer. Once I get my job, Ill finish my collection!

I never bought Disneyland or Davy Crockett, but since Disneyland is still common, why not? Do any of you recommend it?

Disneyland is an interesting set. My favorite episode was the broadcast of Disneyland's Grand Opening, which originally aired LIVE on ABC in 1955. I do highly recommend the Davy Crockett set. I didn't think I'd be so into it since it was such and old miniseries, but I can't imagine what it was like to wait months between each part. I also liked that although it was family oriented, it wasn't afraid of being dramatic, which made me respect it even more. [All the main characters were killed by the third episode. (The last two were based on legends written about the character in the original 3). And don't you people say that I spoiled it, because Leonard Maltin doesn't hesitate to tell you either.]
What would this wretched world be like without Disney?

i dont know.. unless you dig it for nostalgic reasons, davy crockett will probably not be your thing if it isnt farmiliar. its really dated and the action is kinda cheesy. i love it cause i grew up with it but id probably percieve it differently if that hadnt been the case.

btw - walt mentions in the extras that he wasnt expecting the series to blow up the way it had or he wouldve never killed off the characters by episode 3.

You're right, I forgot to post that. I guess I loved it because years ago, I used to collect Disney's Sing Along Songs; I started at about age 2. The Ballad of Davy Crockett was on the very second Volume. Since then, I heard it on almost every Disney audio cassette or CD, and every time I went to Disney World, and my curiosity never stopped growing until I finally got the set this year. I liked it so much because I had been waiting so long to see it, and I find Disney nostalgia very interesting, which is why I decided last winter to collect all the Treasures, and I have succeeded; CAN'T WAIT for Donald, and I am very interested in that Front Lines Set.
What would this wretched world be like without Disney?

I grew up watching the B&W Zorro and loved it so a Zorro treasures set would be very nice, but mostly for nostalgic reasons. Davy Crockett is the only Treasure I'm missing at the moment. Do you get to see some kind of introductions or at least the Disney land credit before each episode?
They where presented on the Disney land show as part of fronteer land right?

First off let me say that The Davy Crockett Tin is by far my favorite. I'm 31 so I cannot point to the fact that I saw the originals when they aired...I just really like these episodes and highly recommend them. Sure they're abit cheesy at times, but these are from the late 1950s (I think) so that's the kind of TV action that was "in" at the time. Can't beat a showdown with ol' Mike Fink 8)

My father-in-law watched these episodes with me and just loved it. He was a kid in the midst of the Davy Crockett craze and remembers how excited all the kids got as the next episode drew closer. He said ALL of his buddies had a coonskin cap and that was the first major Disney merchandising bonanza that he could remember. Davy Crockett was HUGE.

IIRC, each episode does have its own intro from Walt himself and you do see the whole intro just as it appeared on TV the night they aired. And yes they were presented as a part of Disney's Frontierland.
