Future Ultra HD Blu-ray releases

Post by Rumpelstiltskin »

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but as many may know, the new format is region free. No more different regions and all the difficulties that follows.

Isn't that an excellent opportunity to re-release not just the classic features, but also the shorts? Producing them will be much easier as it can all be done at the same manufacturer. The only difference is that some of them also contain various options for sub-titles.
If you want dubbed versions as well, it takes some more effort. But it is way better with a shorts collection without dubbing, than no collection at all. In my opinion, there is a market for it. Especially now, when physical formats are getting more rare, and therefore more difficult for collectors to find.

In Europe the Walt Disney Treasures was never completed. As far as I know, The Chronological Donald, Vol. 4, was never available, along with other DVDS. And a lot of titles was missing from the Silly Symphonies release too.
This time, with no regions to care about, things should be easier. As long as there are subtitles (otherwise Donald will be pretty hard to understand).
