Two people associated with Disney's 2009 film "The Princess and the Frog" have passed away this week, according to NOLA.com.
June 1st saw the passing of famed Creole chef Leah Chase, who was the actual inspiration for Princess Tiana herself.
And today (June 6th) saw the passing of famed New Orleans-based musician Dr. John, who performed a version of "Down in New Orleans" in the opening sequence of "The Princess and the Frog."
In addition to that, Dr. John also performed a cover of "The Bare Necessities" for the end credits of Jon Favreau's 2016 live-action adaptation of "The Jungle Book" and was also the inspiration for the Muppets character Dr. Teeth.

I never knew about Tiana's inspiration.
As for Dr. John, "Down in New Orleans" is the best song to come out of TP&TF, imo. Rest in peace, both of them.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"
