I just got an email that Disney Movies Anywhere is officially closed.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Available now!
Does Disney have any interest in making its streaming services (now Movies Anywhere) available worldwide? I prefer blu-ray by a mile but my movie-watching options have completely shrivelled up.
In my country there aren't even any DVD and Blu-ray rental shops left - they've all gone out of business. I actually have to purchase the movies I want to watch from the UK or the USA from Amazon. As you can guess, that's expensive. I see very little new movies each year.
Most of the rest of my countrymen simply resort to downloading movies illegally off the internet or streaming them (also illegally) on their Android boxes. I think the only legal streaming service we have in Malta is Netflix - which was introduced about 2 years ago - but it's unattractive because the number of films on offer are joke compared to those offered by Netflix in the USA.
So Disney, and all the other film studios out there, please go global. Pretty please.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Available now!
I contacted Movies Anywhere about the lack of a chapters option on the Roku app. After suggesting reinstalling etc., they finally confirmed the Roku app does not have a chapters option. When I open MA in a browser chapters are present. Some movies like Pocahontas have titled chapters while others are just numbered.DisneyVillains wrote:Anyone know if they are going to eventually allow for chapter selection on each movie rather then having to fast forward? Disney Movies Anywhere had it and it was great
I hope they add chapters to all versions and label bonus features clearly! I also wish Disney Movies Anywhere had been maintained as a subset to the broader Movies Anywhere. oh well...

Good News. Even with DMA shut, you can still import all your Disney movies to Movies Anywhere. So for those who missed the deadline, you haven't lost all your films permanently!

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Available now!
I don't know if anyone has an answer, but: who knows if we'll get older releases in new Blu versions with digital codes. Not every movie is on Movies Anywhere to download, and we have no Blu with digital code. Will these movies only be available digitally on Disney+? Everything from Make Mine Music & Melody Time to The Light in the Forest & Almost Angels to High School Musical 1 & 2?

Do know if entering DVD code will enable you to access Movie Anywhere Exclusive on Movie Anywhere or does it have to be Blu ray code?

DVDs don't come with Digital HD codes. They'll have a code for Disney Movie Rewards points, but those won't unlock the actual film on Movies Anywhere.Patricier21 wrote:Do know if entering DVD code will enable you to access Movie Anywhere Exclusive on Movie Anywhere or does it have to be Blu ray code?

But it says on Movies Anywhere "Enter the code form your Blu ray or DVD". So entering a DVD Code for say Planes Fire & Rescue won't unlock its 2 Movies Anywhere Exclusive shorts? Only a Blu ray Code?JeanGreyForever wrote:DVDs don't come with Digital HD codes. Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Available now!
I think there might be some DVDs that do come with digital copies but most of them don't. For example, Planes: Fire & Rescue's DVD doesn't have a digital copy so the code wouldn't unlock the movie. Is there a particular DVD you have that comes with a digital copy code?Patricier21 wrote:

No I'm just generally wondering whether you can access Exclusive Movies Anywhere content, such as Planes: Fire & Rescue's 2 Exclusive shorts, by entering that movie's DVD Code, or if it HAS to be a Blu ray Code.JeanGreyForever wrote:I think there might be some DVDs that do come with digital copies but most of them don't. Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Available now!
Oh ok. To the best of my knowledge, DVD codes do not unlock a movie. All you will get are Disney Movie Rewards points, but the actual movie and bonus features do not come from a DVD. It's not because it's a DVD but because DVDs rarely (if ever) come with digital copies. Not even all Blu-Rays come with digital copy codes, although most of the ones for the past few years now automatically do. It all depends on if the front packaging of the Blu-Ray or DVD mentions that it comes with a digital code.Patricier21 wrote:

So for example, this old Cinderella Blu-Ray does not come with a Digital Copy Code, as seen on the packaging. It is Blu-Ray and DVD only. The code inside is just for movie reward points and nothing else so even though it's a Blu-Ray, you would not be able to access the movie and bonus features. Hope this makes sense!

Hi,
If you & anyone else you know happens to get access to a Planes Fire & Rescue, Disney's A Christmas Carrol, Zootopia Blu ray Codes, I'll happily trade any of my codes for them

Also, it appears as though Toy Story That Time Forgot's Battleopolis Movies Anywhere Exclusive Deleted Scene is no longer available on Movies Anywhere, nor are ANY of its Extras available on iTunes, period. Whats up with that?

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Available now!
You're right. I just checked MA and it's not on there at all so clearly it didn't survive the transition from DMA. I don't think it was ever uploaded on YouTube or anywhere either. What a shame and even more reason to hold onto physical media.Patricier21 wrote:Also, it appears as though Toy Story That Time Forgot's Battleopolis Movies Anywhere Exclusive Deleted Scene is no longer available on Movies Anywhere, nor are ANY of its Extras available on iTunes, period. Sorry for not being able to help you with your previous two posts btw.
