A user on Instagram made these covers for Cinderella's Signature Blu-ray. They look pretty nice. This is one of the best home video covers for the movie. The only problem I might have is with her arms. They're very long.
Cinderella hasn’t had a cover yet that I’ve fully loved, but the VHS with the pumpkin and the Fairy Godmother was probably my favorite one. With Disney’s releases being so expensive now, I’ll have to stick with the standard release only even if the Target exclusive or steelbook are gorgeous.

Do lithographs usually represent what the colors of the latest editions look like? Because the image on the lithograph for people who pre-order has different colors from the same frame on the Diamond Edition.
I just got the DMC mailing they send out every month, and they had the picture of the lithograph on the backside of the envelope, much less blurry than what was posted here. I don't own the Diamond and I didn't bother to get out the Platinum, so I compared it to screencaps from disneyscreencaps.com. I'm not sure if it's closer to what's "right" or not, but the colors do look very different to me (more obvious than the blurry pic posted here). Especially noticeable with the carriage's wheels, actually. Cinderella's hair, skin, lipstick look lighter / warmer. I personally think it looks better, but (if this indicates a new restoration) you'd have to see the whole film that way to know.
I like TJB's simplistic cover of Baloo/Mowgli floating down the river and Kaa looking down at them from up above. The only thing I would've added is perhaps Shere Khan watching them while hidden among the brush in the background.

I love the fanedit cover. It's nice to see Cinderella in her proper dress color even if her hair is still too blonde for my taste.
We’re a dyad in the Force. Two that are one. "I offered you my hand once. You wanted to take it." - Kylo Ren "I did want to take your hand. Ben's hand." - Rey
I just talked to a Disney Movie Club representative on Facebook, and she confirmed that Cinderella is newly restored and for now, available only on the Movie Club. The general release will be available for pre-order soon. this is very exciting.
Thanks.... I am cautiously optimistic. Dont they ALWAYS say its newly restored every time they re-release it? I guess well have to wait for the screencaps...
What makes me wary is that a new restoration doesn't necessarily mean it's a good restoration. After all, BATB gets a new restoration with every release and each one gets successively worse. Hope that isn't the case here though.

And whenever movies are released in 4K, it’s very likely the last time they’ll ever be given the chance to look as good as they can possibly be. I can’t imagine when the studios would be able to do more restoration work after that.

Beauty and the Beast didn't get a new restoration in the Signature Collection.
The 3D restoration was actually fine and should have been used for the Signature Collection, don't know why they didn't use that. Hope they will for the eventual 4K.

True. I was referring to how after the VHS and Laserdisc, we got the Platinum DVD and then the Diamond Blu-Ray. The 3D Blu-Ray is probably the closest we'll get to the official colors now and according to the filmmakers, that was the version they chose, so it's a shame that the Signature Edition didn't utilize that. Maybe the inevitable 4K Edition will but I wouldn't bet on it. TLM get a different restoration but that isn't a CAPS film so who knows.

The original VHS Cinderella cover has always been my favorite Cinderella cover, so I like the second fan-make but not the ones with her in the ballgown. I guess because I feel she would be making a grander pose in her ballgown as well as she didn't have it while looking at the pumpkin transformation in the film. But they got her dress colors right and beautifully so!
Thank you Disney's Divinity for the info!

JeanGreyForever, I thought Beauty and the Beast's Diamond Edition transfer was reportedly better than the Platinum Edition transfer?

Personally, I didn't find it to be an improvement. The Diamond restoration is just as flawed as the Platinum one.
Would it be wishful thinking for Disney to release a special edition of the live-action Cinderella alongside the Signature Edition? I'd love an extended cut with new bonus features as envisioned by Escapay in his post two pages ago and quoted below.
Escapay wrote:
Truth be told, I want a Special Edition for 2015's Cinderella, if only to get a longer documentary. The three Blu-ray featurettes and two Target digital features add up to nearly forty minutes, but because they're self-contained, doesn't really create a documentary narrative. If Disney ever made a Special Edition again (ha!), I'd be content with those features on their own, plus a legitimate hourlong documentary, an audio commentary by Kenneth Branagh, and the trailers. And while I'm dreaming, an extended edition of the film that reinstates all the deleted scenes would be nice.

I'd love a Special Edition release of the live action Cinderella, but the only way I'd see them doing it is by releasing a Movie Club exclusive, with a new cover art, like they did with Frozen.
"Now part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection and the National Film Registry, Disney’s animated classic Cinderella is beloved by generations of fans for its timeless story, unforgettable characters and iconic artistry. Share the magic as kind, hardworking Cinderella is rewarded with an evening at the Royal Ball. It just takes the help of her animal friends, a wave of her Fairy Godmother’s wand and some “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.” Celebrate the legacy of Disney’s classic animation in Cinderella, where dreams really do come true!"
Regarding Beauty and the Beast Platinum vs Diamond:
I feel like the Diamond is slightly better in terms of picture quality. The Platinum is horrible in that regard. The colors are the same. The pros of the Platinum are that it didn't "enhance" the backgrounds (like that infamous Belle's reflection) and it has the correct shot at the end of Something There. Personally I have small preference for the Diamond (the Signature really since it has a better bitrate). However I'd watch the Laserdisc/3D/WIP 35mm scan over both of them.
I feel like Disney currently has two masters:
1. The special edition with seamless branching for the theatrical edition (this is what they used in Diamond/Signature 2D blu rays).
2. The theatrical edition only (this is what they used in the 3D Diamond edition bluray).
I think that the master that will be used for the 4K edition depends on weather Disney wants the special edition in 4K (hopefully they don't).
The old VHS cover of her in the tattered dress was ALWAYS my favourite ... they never will, but if they use it again will be absolutely chuffed ! That in itself says a lot, that I would be thrilled if Disney reused VHS coverart from what, 25 years ago ?!
Surprised she is coming round again though, thought it would be Sleeping Beauty for sure.

I've always loved it too. In fact, it's always been one of my favorite home video covers ever. I've always said I wish that Disney would do something similar to Shout! Factory and include alternate (older) cover art on the opposite side of the new one for their Blu-Ray releases.

Hi Marcey,
I was thinking about that, too, and I hope the new one will do the movie justice.
I still have my VHS Cinderella tape! I still have a lot of my Disney VHS's from the 90's and I really need to sell most of them as Im in need of storage space but its hard to let go of that stuff for me, lol. I'll probably keep Cinderella, Little Mermaid and Oliver and Company and maybe one or two more. I wonder if I should keep Snow White since it was the first version of it on home media.
I probably wore out the first 10 minutes of the Cinderella VHS just b/c of how many times I would watch the Oliver and Company movie trailer at the beginning. We didn't get O & Co on home media until 1997 so that and the Fun with Music edition of Disney Sing Along Songs was all we had for a long time(too damn long) lol!
