Can't talk about it though but I confirm...
Can you talk about how you feel the princesses were portrayed after watching the full movie? Do you think they are depicted in a respectful and accurate manner or just played for stereotypical laughs?

I am sorry but I am under confidential agreement, so I can't tell anything.
I really wish I could answer your questions and would be excited to share my thoughts about this sequel.
I guess you won't be disappointed. ;)

Kido, if this is your way of confirming a Vanellope-princess song at any point in the movie, you just sent me to a early grave.

And ugh, you're so lucky! I'm trying to keep my eyes out for screenings. My local advanced Moana screening was the first week of November

EDIT: ‪According to someone who has the junior novel, they have cut Ralph’s romance with Yesss and anyone else from the movie.‬

Kido, are Felix and Calhoun in the movie at all? They’re literally in the junior novel only two times and I’ll be so angry if they have nothing in the movie.

I liked Shank's concept art. She looked really good.

Well, Tumblr being Tumblr, has ruined the movie for everyone. :glare:

Vanellope stays on the Internet.

New international posters and a new promotional image of Ralph:

The concept art of Shank seems drawn by Jin Kim, doesn't it? Didn't he leave the studio? Or could he have made it before leaving? By the way, she resembles Gal Gadot much more in these drawings.

That's good to hear but making Ralph the problem or the screw-up again isn't. His clones are motived by Ralph's fears who combine into one giant Ralph and threaten to destroy the Internet.

But what about her game? It feels out-of-character for her to abandon her home and her people. Does Sugar Rush get fixed at least? It'll be awful if they leave it busted.

I noticed that too. It's possible he made it before leaving or he freelanced it. I assume if he went back, he would have made model sheet and reference drawings for Yesss too. I know he left Korea and returned to the U.S. but I'm not sure if he's back at WDAS. I'll try to find out. I love his work so I hope he did.

Really?? What a bummer. If that's so, this really makes me dissapointed over Vanellope, since her arc is about her friendship with Ralph.

They look somewhat Jin Kim-esque. And yes, she awfully resembles Gal in those drawings.

I especially liked those two former ones, with Shank and Yess.

I do not like the ending. What even are her motivations are to stay? My interest in this film is being whittled down day by day. It was enough that the original characters were being supplanted by the focus on the IPs, but now even the integrity of the characterization of the original characters is under attack, not just their screentime.

This is from the Essential Guide for the movie. I'm glad they clarified it in an official book. If the princesses are really avatars though, shouldn't they be square-faced like the rest of them? It seems Disney wants to have their cake and eat it too. Still, it's better than not making a distinction at all.

How come they chose Mulan and Merida to be included in the set over any of the other princesses? There's no way they're more popular than Ariel, Belle, or Elsa.

They removed Cinderella's drink.

The film's directors address Tiana's backlash in a new interview and say the Princesses scene in the movie won't be exactly like in the trailer:
The filmmakers also said that the princesses scene will be a little different in the movie version compared to the footage in the trailer. Specifically, a few new jokes and a couple lines of dialogue from Vanellope.

And it sounds like that won't be the only time Princess Tiana will be seen in the movie. Johnston and Moore revealed that all the princesses show up again later in the movie.

"I have friends who are like, 'It's just that one scene with them, right?' All I can say is you'll definitely see more of them," Moore said.

I guess both things you said are possible. I love his work too. It would be great if he was back at the studio.

By the way, thanks for the link to the photos of the Essential Guide, Sotiris. I think one of the things I will enjoy the most from the film is the world building.

Yup, that's the point.

I believe that Sugar Rush gets fixed :) The novel "implies it," so I'm assuming yes.

Actually, it's handled very well. Ralph learns that he can let Vanellope go while remaining her friendship. And that's what they do. And someone said the scene is very beautiful and moving.

AND OH MY GOD PRINCESS SONG HEAVILY IMPLIED :D :D :D (She's talking about one of the new scenes)

Have we heard anything about Lea Salonga and Judy Kuhn being brought into the studio? That would confirm whether or not they reprise their singing roles.

Or maybe Irene and Linda will do their singing voices since the princesses “aren’t perfect.” Or Lea and Judy aren’t to talk yet

Yes, confirmation it's not the real princesses, but avatars!

I wish they had let Cinderella drink. :/

Unfortunately, he's not back at WDAS. I asked one of my friends in the industry who told me he's working at Pearl Studio on Glen Keane's "Over the Moon" movie.

Which drink?
There's no drink on the original material.
