Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
Not only is the cover awful but I noticed that two of Disney's biggest cashcows, Ariel and Elsa, are on there as well. I suppose they aren't even pretending anymore that this film was created for anything but promoting their biggest IPs.

Interesting that Felix, Calhoun, and the Sugar Rush racers weren't considered important enough to even talk about at the panel.
Shank's gang is reminding me a little too much of the Pub Thugs from Tangled. As if they weren't bad enough in one iteration.

I do too, and Pyro most of all.Disney Duster wrote:I find Pyro, Shaggy, and Fred all to be cute.
I understand the character is not traditionally good-looking. If he were made of flesh and blood and somehow magically appeared in our (real) world many would dismiss him as goofy or borderline ugly. Nevertheless he is appealing ... at the very least I find him appealing, and I would be very pleased to make his acquaintance. Hopefully he’d be a decent guy and not a jerk.
Do you guys not find his design to have appeal?

Obviously not, all the buzz have been about the Princesses. But it's still remarkable, indeed.JeanGreyForever wrote:Interesting that Felix, Calhoun, and the Sugar Rush racers weren't considered important enough to even talk about at the panel

Oh, what a brat indeed! She was one of my favorite characters from the first movie, but was still a brat nonetheless! Now she's reached the peak of brattiness, to the point of being unlikable!
It shouldn't come as a surprise, since it was shaped under Lasseter.Oh, and another twist-villain!
Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
Yes, in the 1st film Vanellope's entire game was manipulated by Turbo, she was basically an outcast in her own game. But now it seems she dosen't appreciate what she has. Her game is boring, her friendship with Ralph isn't enough. This sounds like the kind of person that once they get bored with you, they'll just drop you for something better.DisneyFan09 wrote:DisneyEra wrote:It's clear Vanellope has issues. What a brat!

Yeah. Not a likable trait at all. I liked Vanellope, despite her faults, but I remember having a friend who detested her because of her negative traits in the first movie (and Sarah Silverman's voice). Now she seems more detestable than ever.

Back
Apparently, major spoilers have somehow leaked on Tumblr. I haven't seen any, but just keep your eye out.
1) There is actually a full description of the movie clips from Toronto and it includes the structure of the movie. It also explains why Shank's friends are another version of the Pub Thugs and Vanellope's "bratty" line (MINOR SPOILERS)
http://globalsoftpirka.tumblr.com/post/ ... el-since-i
I like that the friends are actually actors to the players. I think that's a cute spin. Now that I know the full context of Vanellope's "You're not enough" line, I understand what she is saying. Without a video game, what's her purpose? I don't think she's bratty in my opinion. As for her thoughts of Sugar Rush, I'll wait for the movie to have a opinion on it. I do understand people's thoughts of her being ungrateful, but again, I want to watch it first.
2) THE PINS! AHHHHHHHHHHH!
3) I don't care how Pyro looks since he's a very minor character. What makes me annoyed is that they can announce a voice of a very minor character, but not the full cast (The movie is out in two months for heck's sake) nor the Felix/Calhoun/Sugar Rush Racers.
4) The ART OF cover is not the best book cover, but I do appreciate what they tried to do with it. It's just too Cal-Arts for me, personally. And I'm shocked no one is talking about the random pink goo man.

Actually, that "art of" cover is pretty cool. Love the retro, semi-psychedelic vibe going on that's straight out of 1982 (when the arcade was supposedly released).

Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
So, I talked to someone who saw the Princess scene at the Expo and unless they cut it for time, they made a couple of changes to the Princess scene:
-Praise God: It seems like they removed Cinderella and Aurora being sarcastic and snobby to CP30. Yes, it was funny and I didn't mind it that much, but their kindness makes them them. My #1 rule: Keep them kind to others.
-Vanellope doesn't rant about Ralph getting credit for saving Sugar Rush anymore
-Vanellope says the "Wouldn't it be boring if we're all the same" line instead of Tiana, which sucks b/c it would have been more meaningful.
They still kept Snow White's glasses, Jasmine's cat allergy, rabid Meeko, and Ariel singing

Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
I'm glad they changed how Cinderella and Aurora treat C-3PO. That was one of the biggest issues I had with this scene so the fact that Disney recognized that this was incongruous with the original characters already makes me feel better.
I still don't understand the Snow White joke. The Jasmine one I don't find to be very funny either.

Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
Right?! Cinderella did had a attitude in the original and Aurora was pretty smart and playful, but not rude and looking down on others. If anything, give the name calling to Merida and Jasmine or something. Cp30 is still in the scene with one quick line about getting ready and that's it. Again, this is all based on if they cut the clip for time or not, but telling from the trailer, the scene has changed dramatically.
Snow White: Heigh Ho reference with Dopey's diamond glasses. You'll see what I mean when you see it.
Jasmine: All improved by Linda Larkin herself. Don't really get it, but I find it cute and Linda's noises

Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
Even Snow White had quite a bit of spunk to her but none of the classic three princesses were ever outright rude to someone who didn't deserve it. The same applies to Belle since I know many people who label her as condescending to the villagers.
Ah, I understand the Snow White reference now. I couldn't figure out why they'd give her glasses out of all of the princesses, except maybe the fact that she's the "oldest" princess so her eyesight would be the worst.
If Linda Larkin came up with it, then I suppose it's not the worst thing in the world. It's a spoof anyway so some fun can be had here even if it doesn't make much sense imo. It would be like if Cinderella was suddenly allergic to mice. Or pumpkins lol.

Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
But teasing someone isn't looking down on them or being unkind! I liked that part! It was just slightly "meaner" than "maybe I should interrupt the 'music lesson'?"
But why would Jasmine be allerigic to cats when she's has Rajah? Ahhhhhh!!!

Re: Ralph Breaks the Internet
Welcome back, disneyprincess11, and thanks for all the info!
I'm surprised Shank's scene takes place before we meet Yesss. I thought she would appear later and most of the movie would take place in her game the same way most of the first movie takes place in Sugar Rush. But now I'm not so sure. Unless she appears again later, maybe that's the only scene with her and her gang.
Here's a new cover (I hope this one hasn't been posted yet): https://www.amazon.com/Ralph-Breaks-Int ... e+internet
Pyro's voice actor is Australian and his casting was announced by Disney Australia. I think he has already been announced despite having a small role, because the voice actor must be quite famous there and it's a way of promoting the movie in that territory.disneyprincess11 wrote:I don't care how Pyro looks since he's a very minor character. This article also mentions that info about the villain (last paragraph), so I guess it must be true. I don't understand why Spencer said there won't be any villain only to say the exact opposite now. The latter is more believable, though, and it's most likely Yesss.DisneyEra wrote:Spoilers:
