I watched that episode online not much later, but now that it has aired in the US too I think we can talk about it. It wasn't a bad episode, but I didn't like the way they brought back an old character. It wasn't too respectful, in my opinion.

A Three Caballeros episode is on the shelf for now.
....Ultimately it was done before we ever started up on our show, so it had no baring on us postponing our Three Cabs episode idea- that was more of a production concern than anything else. Would still love to have Panchito and Jose on the show. Maybe some day…

With all the crossovers and/or references to other Disney Afternoon programs here, all that's needed now is to do an episode in which Donald takes Scrooge and the nephews to meet one of his closest friends and his son. Want to guess who they are?

The last episode was really interesting. Things are getting exciting now that the season finale is approaching.

Here's a sneak peek at the last episodes of season 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FCmhbFC994

Are you referring to Goof Troop? Yes, that would be great. I loved the references to Gummi Bears in "From the Confidential Casefiles of Agent 22". Though, aren't Gummi bears the only ones who bounce when they drink the secret potion? When humans drink it, it makes them stronger. I know the characters here are not humans, but maybe it should have had another effect on them.

I loved seeing Bubba among those new characters. And also the three caballeros. I'm a bit surprised, though, that they're not going to use the same voice actors from Legend of the Three Caballeros for Panchito and José.

By the way, I'm curious, what do you guys think of the new versions of old characters that have been introduced lately? Though not as much as the original, I like the new Fenton/Gizmoduck. The episodes he has appeared in are among my favorites so far. His mother is OK, but not as funny as the original. Goldie is a bit too evil, she almost seems a villain, though I kind of liked her. Regarding Doofus, I don't know yet, I need to see more of him, but they have changed him quite a lot!

I mostly love the new takes on most of the old characters, especially Fenton. The difference with Gyro was jarring, but his new personality works with the show and has really grown on me. Goldie is rubbing me the wrong way just a little thus far, but to be fair she always has no matter the incarnation. :p One of my favorite episodes so far has been the spy-based one; the retro stuff was cool and it was fun seeing younger versions of the characters. Lots of cool little easter eggs, great character development, genuinely funny moments and a hearty dose of adventure. I really like the designs of the upcoming characters, but that's probably a given since I love the overall look and feel of the show (I do hope we'll see Daisy at some point). The creators obviously love the source material just as much as I do, and the build-up for the season finale has been sucking me in.

For those interested, Target is carrying exclusive DuckTales toys and merchandise, but actually finding it in-stores may be hit or miss. I've picked up several of the 5" action figures so far, and a few of the "money stacks" blind box figures (which includes Lena and DARKWING). Scrooge's money bin and Launchpad's plane are also available. The Disney Store is also carrying a play set of figurines which is consistently sold out in my area (prompting me to buy that set online). I hope more characters will be released as figures in the future, especially Della.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm referring to.

My sister would love that, as she loves the movie (and Donald Duck in general). Who are they getting to voice Jose and Panchito?

It has yet to grow on me . It also took me a while to like Mrs. Beakley (she's so serious here) and to get used to the nephews. The old characters were more innocent; the good guys were nicer and the bad guys meaner. But I understand that's what modern audiences are used to. On the one hand, their personalities seem more realistic in that aspect; but on the other, they aren't as likable or it takes more time to like them (at least to me). That doesn't mean they aren't good and well developed characters. For the most part they are. It took me a bit to get used to the change of tone and feel of this new series compared to the original, but I'm really enjoying it now. The episodes' plots are clever and the writing is quite good. I like the humor too, the jokes are generally funny. However, I wish there were fewer jokes, because sometimes it makes the situations feel less dangerous and less real.

I enjoy this show so much! I have watched a few of them at least twice. The animation took time to grow on me, but the voice cast is awesome. The real treat is that the nephews personalities are expanded. The only character design I don’t care for is the Beagle Boys and Ma. Not sure how I feel about the crossovers because I think you can use nostalgia too much that it begins to loose the shows focus. Duckworth should have been real and not a ghost. Can not wait for Magica De Spell, her appearance at the end of the teaser at SDCC was met with cheers!

I completely agree. I would've preferred he hadn't been in the show at all to him appearing this way.

Who knows, these references to other Disney Afternoon series are more than little cameos. Maybe it's a way of testing if there's an audience for more potential remakes.

Here's the full song from the last episode and its reprises:
