^Not, really. I believe Disney's really overpaying for Fox's assets but here's hoping this new development will settle the matter once and for all and won't result in Comcast instigating another bidding war.

I wonder which assets Disney was forced to forgo.
The Justice Department is set to approve the deal in as soon as two weeks, said the person, who declined to be named because the investigation is confidential. Disney has agreed to sell some assets to address competition problems stemming from the tie-up, according to the person.

"sell some assets"? That's sounds worrying. What kind of assets?

Yeah, me, too. Would they dare sell the animation studio? Or the parks?

I'm hoping it just means "stocks", but I don't know.

They won't be selling their own assets but some Fox assets. Ones which would have been competitive with Disney's. I've heard talk of selling some regional sports networks. I'm hoping they sell Blue Sky and Fox animation as well.

I hope that's true. I don't think "The Simpsons" or "Ice Age" or "Family Guy" or "Rio" would fit well at all.

I'm hoping for the opposite of that to be honest. Rather have everything in one place then sold off piece by piece (in the terms of movie and TV libraries).

I'm on the agreement that maybe it's best to get rid of some of the sports channels and let New Fox have ownership. With Regency they could give the Warner distributed-only films back to that company and let Fox/Disney keep they stuff Fox had a hand in.

And National Geographic, you think that would be better with someone else too?

Thankfully, Disney only has to sell Fox Sports to get approval.

Well better that than anything else.

Makes sense too since Disney has a sports franchise of its own.

Disney, Fox Shareholders to Vote July 27 on Deal

Date is effectively a deadline for Comcast to decide whether it will try again to top Disney’s bid
Let's just hope Comcast decides to throw in the towel so this can be settled once and for all.

Apparently Comcast hopes that if it can't get the Fox properties, it can make Disney pay more for them so they can't help Fox bid for the rest of Sky.

I wonder what this will mean for Hollywood. The original $52.4 billion ended up as $71.3 billion thanks to Comcast. But who knows. Maybe Comcast will try to buy Viacom or something instead.

And; how will this affect Disney's logo?

By the way, the date says June 20, 2018.

The proposed transaction between The Walt Disney Company (“Disney”) and Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. (“21CF”) will be effected through the formation of a new holding company that will become the parent of both Disney and 21CF and is referred to as New Disney, TWDC Holdco 613 Corp. (“New Disney”)

That's a horrible name. New Coke, anyone? Why do they even need to create a new parent company since this is an acquisition and not merger? Am I missing something?

I really just want to know what will happen to Blue Sky.
Oh, and what about Book of Life 2 from Fox/Reel FX. Please, don't cancel it.

I'm getting sick of the whole thing. What I personally would love to see happen no matter the outcome; No Fox for Comcast. And handing over the Marvel movie rights to Disney so nobody else can make Marvel movies. All Marvel titles belongs under the same roof.

Disney should get a new offer prepared to immediately counter Comcast's new offer and keep the shareholder vote on schedule.
