Hilary Duff to be Dorothy

Post by Prince Adam »

After discovering Wicked, and re-reading the original Oz books by L. Frank Baum, I've become an addmittedly obnoxious Oz fan. So, I went looking for news about the new Muppet version.

Last week I read that the role of Dorothy wouldn't be given to Miss Piggy, but, to strengthen the emotion of the character, and to allow us to really feel for her, to Anne Hathaway or Natalie Portman. I was really excited.

But now, at animated-news.com, they've reported that, in order to "lure" her back to the company, Disney is offering the role to Hilary Duff.

Enough said. I liked Lizzie McGuire-I don't like Hilary Duff, or at least, what she's become.

Anne Hathaway would be the best choice, I think. Though, I'd like to see her start taking some roles outside of Disney-ish projects. Natalie Portman would probably never take the role anyway.

Natalie Portman's a little old for the role. I think Hilary Duff would be a good choice, I mean, can Anne Hathaway even sing?

Yeah Actually Ann Hathaway can sing and pretty good she sings in Ella Enchanted. I think she would be a great choice for Dorthy she is so aniemated. Hillary Duff I am not sure I mean she is all right but you know w/e.

I think Anne Hathaway would be a perfect choice for the role of Dorothy. She looks like Judy Garland (I know this really isn't a remake of the MGM movie, but I thought it's worth noting) and she can sing to boot. Natalie Portman would also be good, though I don't know if she can sing. Hillary Duff would be an absolutely horrible casting choice and I hope that that is just a rumor.

I like the choice. :D She's not the ideal Dorothy, but I can definitely see her in the role.

How dare you offend Jessica Simpson, I love Nick/Jessica NEWLYWEDS. Jessica Simpson, is a really nice person. And she is good looking to. I think she would make the best Dorothy.+ She is more developed than Hilary Duff if you know what I mean.

Does thst coincide with the manly urges you supposedly can't control? ;) Considering Dorothy's only supposed to be about 12, I don't think certain *ahem* developments will win anyone this role.

Sorry, but I don't think I offended anyone but you with that post. She markets herself as being dumb, doesn't she? I saw her in those commercials and some other appearances on television and she intentially acts stupid, that's her routine.

Hillary Vs. Jessica

Post by Disney Guru »

Ok I get what you mean no Maerj. Sorry for what I said.

And every man, has urges that they can't stop.

Jessica, does portray herself as dumb. But if you watch the show Nick/Jessica NEWLYWEDS. You will see a different side of her. She is just a plain and simple, average girl.

No harm done. I don't watch her show as I don't watch MTV anymore. I was in a hotel room in Baltimore not too long ago and watched some M2 there. It was a Beavis and Butthead marathon. That was a funny show, but they really need to show music videos like they used to.

Who should be Dorothy?

Hillary Duff 1-5 odds
Ann Hathaway 1-10 odds
Natalie Portman 1-50 odds
Jessica Simpson 1-100 odds

I really think that Hilary Duff should get the role hey come on she can sing so great better then Ann Hathaway. :D

I think getting Anne Hathaway for the role would be great, but Hilary Duff might be okay too. Either way, I'm really looking forward to this film. Muppets + Wizard of Oz = Genius. :D

My problem is that I really can see Hilary Duff as Dorothy-a whining, pouty Dorothy.

You know the part in the original film, when Dorothy is trapped in the Witch's tower, and she's all alone? She's crying, and puts her fingers to her mouth, almost like she's biting her nails. It looks like something a little kid does when they cry: Hilary's done that many times in Lizzie McGuire and in her other projects, and she's mastered that perfectly.

Also, this Dorothy isn't running away from Miss Gultch-in the new version, she's tired of Kansas life, and wants to go to the city to jump-start a singing career.

I bet Hilary Duff will get the role. I don't think thats the right choice, and Hilary can't even sing!!! I bet if you took all the computers away, she'd sound like a moaning cow!!!! I think Anne Hathaway should do it. She's a much better singer. I also think she's a good actress, where Hilary is pretty bland.
Never judge things by their appearence; even carpet bags. I'm sure I never do.
