Man I am gonna be so pissed if they cut Be Prepared and put in a song for Beyonce.
Man has a dream
And that's the start
He follows his dream
With mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true
For you and me!

Well, Beyonce's song would be over the credits, not within the film itself. Maybe they can add "Be Prepared" later in the credits similar to ADIAWYHM and BBB in cinderella.

With the same director as The Jungle Book, I'm guessing he may not have wanted there to be many songs so the film would be more "serious." I can see "Be Prepared" getting cut because of the divided reaction over "I Wanna Be Like You" in the live-action TJB film. They probably don't want to take the risk of undermining Scar's weight as a villain, I guess?

Still, I wish they'd got rid of "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" or "Hakuna Matata" if one of the film's songs was going to be cut.

But both of those songs are way more popular than 'Be Prepared', I think. Just ask any person to name a song from The Lion King and chances are they'll say 'Hakuna Matata' (or 'I Just Can't Wait to Be King' and 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight').

Also, had they cut 'Hakuna Matata', people would have been really mad. Hell, I would have been mad. It would be like cutting out the song 'Beauty and the Beast' from BatB or 'Under the Sea' from TLM.

I think "Hakuna Matata" is the least good of the film's songs and has the least to do with the story or message of the film, and it's certainly no theme song like "Beauty and the Beast" or "Part of Your World". I hope "Be Prepared" is still in actually and they just forgot. Maybe Disney's Divinity is right about the director not wanting so many songs in but after Beauty and the Beast I doubt it and I hope Sotiris is right it was just forgotten.

I can't believe they have a perfectly good score with the Broadway show (which is way better than the original) and yet are cutting the few songs the movie already had. Worse, the good ones!

So, no Be Prepared that we know of.
Total waste of a gorgeous Broadway score. Especially Shadowland, Endless Night, and They Live in You
Yet no songs for Mufasa and Rafiki, who are desperately in need of them.

What is the point of this?!

If they must cut a song I'd rather it be "Can't Wait to Be King" and leave in "Be Prepared".

I wish all three of those songs would be included as well. More than likely, Beyonce will get a solo number to replace Shadowland, perhaps separate from the end-credits song.

Could they be removing Be Prepared due to the controversy over alleged Nazi/militaristic imagery during that sequence?

Perhaps. It's not unusual if they removed it because of it.

Regarding your previous comment about the songs, don't you like the other songs from the movie?

I don't understand at all how Nazi imagery during the villain's song (in which he plans the murder of his brother and nephew, a coup d'etat) would be a controversy? :? :? :? Nazis are evil, Scar is evil--I don't get the problem.

Perhaps Disney is afraid it'll alienate the actual Nazis in the US. We surely have had an increasing amount of them lately.

But, correct me if I'm wrong, there's no actual reference to Nazism in the song itself. They don't have to have any reference to Nazism in the visuals. Isn't it only some goose-stepping hyenas that were a reference? They don't have to do that.

The only songs from the movie I like are The Circle of Life and Be Prepared. That's why I was hoping they'd include the Broadway songs in the remake.

You know how oversensitive people can get in the age of social media. At least, we're not the only ones who find it ridiculous.

It looks like Chance the Rapper and Pharrell Williams are working on The Lion King soundtrack.

I like Pharrell Williams, so I'm glad he's working on the soundtrack. I wonder what the contribution of these two musicians will be.

I like Chance the Rapper, but still... Isn't it a little strange these two are working on the music for The Lion King??? I'm not upset or anything. This is odd.

And why is Elton John not there with them if they're working on the music?

This won't go down well with fans.
We have exclusively learned from a source close to the project that the film’s villain Scar is expected to have a new look to him.

According to our source, the studio is considering making Scar a rare white lion with a weak/frail look to him, the idea is to give Scar a much different look from the rest of the lions in the film (Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Serabi). This would be drastically different from the dark orange and black we know from the classic animated film.

It should be noted that this is what is being considered and things can easily change in post-production.

I like the idea myself. But I agree, most TLK fans will be in a wrath.
